Alsobrooks is like DC mayor Muriel Bowser. Like the D.C. mayor, she is far better versed in platitudes than policy. She’s also prickly and defensive like Bowser. And like Bowser she’s not the sharpest pencil in the drawer. She’s “AlsoBowser.”

What relevance does the Washington Post have for the state of Maryland?

You're kidding right?

Two things people in the state of Maryland care about: Ravens and Orioles. Go try to find coverage in the Post.

You probably think the state of Maryland only exists as an extension of DC. Which is why you’re having a hard time understanding why Hogan is hoping Alsobrooks wins the primary.

Three more things people in the state of Maryland care about: Commanders, Nationals, Capitals.

People in the DC suburbs. You don’t seem to understand that the state of Maryland is larger than the DC suburbs. If it was only the DC suburbs that decided statewide races, Tom Perez would be governor right now. DC folks are funny for how little they know about their neighbors. Kinda sad actually.

He's a strong candidate, for sure. The only question is weather he can convince Marylanders that he is NOT a lockstep Republican vote for Supreme Court appointees. If not for this one issue, he would cruise to an easy victory.

Trone has all the money and a decent story (grew up using an outhouse, built a successful company, is not a terrible person despite being rich). Not sure he can win his primary since he does not have a track record of successes on issues that people care about.

The leader in the "roadside sign competition" is the always reliable Robin Ficker. Ten time champion!

If not for this one issue of measly, pesky, minor issue of women having the right to make their own health care and reproductive decisions...

They actually do. It’s when another person with their own DNA arrives that things get complicated.

You mean, parents making health care decisions for their children? That can sometimes get complicated, for example if the parents don't want the child to get the measles vaccine or the polio vaccine. Or if the parents think it's appropriate for the child to receive gender-affirming care, but state law forbids it. But that doesn't have anything to do with women having the right to make their own health care and reproductive decisions.

Good. He has proven himself to be a caring, dedicated, hardworking, and very responsible/ responsive public servant. He cares about Maryland deeply.

Trone is a filthy-rich fat-cat who made his billions peddling alcohol but acts like he’s always done the right thing for the community. Truth is: Trone is all about Trone and his own inflated billionaire ego.

How did he do this? What did he do? Besides needlessly delay and raise the cost of the Purple Line, dump on Baltimore, enrich himself, hollow out state government, and engage in various other actions that were, at best, questionable (e.g., those "covid tests")? To say nothing of his former chief of staff.

Very tired of Trone's commercials attacking Alsobrooks. Big white billionaire can't say what great policies he supports but spends more time and money bashing the Black woman?

I will NEVER set foot in a Total Wine store again.

Which commercials are those?

I have only seen Trone commercials promoting himself, his support for abortion, his support from teachers, that he’s more electable to oppose Trump, and one where Black politicians in PG County endorse him. None of the Trone ads I’ve seen mention Alsobrooks at all.

I’m
Just tired of getting texts and phone calls from both candidates and ready for this primary to be over already! I already voted early, stop calling me!

Amazing stat:
Through Thursday, Trone had spent $44.3 million on advertising in his race, more than the Biden campaign’s $42.5 million (nationwide!), according to data from AdImpact.

I have a question for those registered as Democrats who are planning on voting for Hogan in the general. Who are you voting for Trone or Alsobrookes? I am on the fence.

How are you a democrat if you are helping to hand the senate Republicans?
