Well, we fostered and continue to foster additional AH in south Arlington without all of those things. But of course, the north wants to continue to be absolved; so sure, let's use the resources excuse now. |
Sorry we’ve been saying this for 10 years. |
Of course you have. Anything to keep it out of NA. Always before, now, and evermore. |
DP. So we should add AH to NA now without capacity…out of spite? Or do we push to add more capacity *and* only locate new AH above Wilson? The “enemy” here is the CB who doesn’t prioritize schools and who doesn’t value distributing AH across the county. And I think you underestimate the # of YIMBYs. |
You are not paying attention. I oppose SA AH too. The very thing you are complaining about. |
This is not at all true. Both VPI and Montessori far away from AH are completely booked out! There are no open spots. If you offer it, people will sign up for it. And, FYI, to another PP; people are putting their 3 and 4 yr olds on busses. This is the case at many option schools, and the schools that offer Montessori, VPI, and special needs. Due to the hub stops many are on the bus for 45 minutes. APS has extra personnel on these busses, not just the driver. This is not ideal (the distance and time), nonetheless, there are no empty spots, there is a great demand. Right now, at all the far-North Elementary Schools APS kicks the poor students out by 1st grade, by design. There is really no excuse for that. |
Well I know I have watched SB meetings in the past where this was stated. |
