Your favourite underrated movies no one saw

But the thread is making me thing of some older movies that no one talks about anymore, like Brazil or The Mossion (I think both of which happen to have De Niro in them!). The movie Missing with sissy spacek is amazing and another one that time seems to have forgotten.

Win Win was so good. The Station Agent with Bobby Cannavale is also really good.

Yes, both of those!

Here’s a movie that nobody I’ve ever mentioned it to has seen:

Club Paradise.

It stars a young Robin Williams, Eugene Levy, Rick Moranis, Jimmy Cliff, etc.

It was released the same weekend as Weekend at Bernie’s which overshadowed it.

It’s a gem. And the soundtrack is fantastic.

I saw Club Paradise when it came out in 1986 - and I thought it was so funny. There was a scene that's stuck with me for 35 years now - where a huge bag of marijuana falls from the sky, and Robin Williams (I think) says, "This is going to last us 20 years!" Then the other character - can't remember who - says, "This is going to GET us 20 years!"

OMG. Are you being serious? This was one of the worst movies I have seen.

Not op, and my family prefers the Annie from the early '80s, but the Jamie Foxx one was fun in it's own way.

It made almost $140m at the box office. Hardly unseen

Eve's Bayou w/ Samuel Jackson, Jurnee Smolette, Lynn Whitfield, Debbi Morgan, Megan Goode. It's an independent film with an all black cast. It came out in 1997 and received critical acclaim but I don't think many people saw it. If it came out today, it would have been an Oscar contender.

Seeing "I'm Not a Cheerleader" posted here reminded me of this gem: Slums of Beverly Hills

Killing Zoe

Great heist flick. It was made by the screenwriter who co-wrote Pulp Fiction with Quentin Tarentino.

I think a few people saw it when it came out, but for some reason it's impossible to find anywhere so it's been forgotten. It's so, so good. I laughed and cried buckets.

This is one of my all-time favorite movies. I love Alan Rickman so much! I got the poster from my local video store and kept it for many years - probably need to go post this on the 'how are you weird' thread.

Hope so — loved it!

I fell in love with Tom Everett Scott the night I saw that at the theater

Here's an actual obscure one, and very funny - Kung Pao: Enter the Fist. So bad it's good. My husband and I still quote from it.

Here are some that were popular when they came out but may be forgotten but I still love them:

Dogfight
While You Were Sleeping
Wings of Desire
I Know Where I'm Going

I tell people about this movie all the time. River Phoenix and Lili Taylor. Don't Think Twice It's Alright. Such a sweet and somber movie.

If you have seen this please chime in. I love this film.

Of course! We were all big fans of Luc Besson and Jean Marc Barr was so dreamy.

I own a copy on VHS and have the soundtrack. Love Besson and Barr. I absolutely adore Jean Reno!

IDK, this is pretty well-known at this point. It always seems to be on TV. It's a total classic at this point.

One of the best endings I’ve ever seen.

The Way, Way Back was my choice, also. I love Sam Rockwell.

I love The Way, Way Back! Came here to say Away We Go. Such a sweet movie. And that stroller scene... I love to say, "I loooove my baby, why would I PUSH HER away from me?!?!"
