With all 4 options, Woodward is drastically worse than WJ.

Option 1 essentially does this. The problem is thst Woodward gets Viers Mill ES and WJ gets Rosemary Hills and Chevy Chase ES, so not equivalent demographically. Plus, Tilden is more diverse than North Bethesda MS to begin with because it encompasses more apartments in Rollins and off Parklawn.

Given how close WJ and Woodward are, MCPS should come up with options which keeps WJ and Woodward FARMS in the same range.

They are better off keeping kids local and schools high farms as they get more funding and smaller class sizes. The families who go to these schools don’t mind and we are trying to avoid the racist families and happy to have our kids at these schools.

It's the school board's job to care about schools, not your property values. Bringing up property values at all is a dog whistle, and the minute you bring it up, no one is listening to you or cares what you have to say. So please, make your case that split articulation is bad; make your case that kids shouldn't have long bus rides, or bus rides that go past another school they could be at sooner, etc. But let go of property values - it's irrelevant to redistricting

This. It’s not going to matter. But, I’d love my property value to go down. Less taxes. It only matters if you plan to sell.

But see that is selfish. You believe in public schools right? You know that the schools are under not over resources. Our taxes pay for the schools.

Mcps would be fine with less money if they managed it properly. Yes, I’d prefer to pay less in taxes especially given how much we pay for tutoring as some teachers are really checked out and do the minimum.

Deal with it. We worked hard and prioritized education to succeed. DCC families are ok with mediocre schools.

You didn't prioritize education you just prioritize having an expensive house

I hate to let you know but better schools increase property values. So people that want better schools have higher priced homes.

No, better is the quality of teacher your kid gets assigned. All parents want their kids to get a good education. The difference is the we have the same incomes but have more money for tutoring and more important college.

You keep saving for Towson and Salisbury. Pat yourself on the back. Same incomes? Yea right. Look at the data

Sure, ok. What, you think we all make $150k or less down county…. My kids are probably surpassing yours in math and other subjects. And, given there is less competition they will have a much better chance of getting into top colleges.

LOL. Property value will go down, but the government will just raise the tax rate. You think they will take less revenue from you? Moron.

Exactly. Good is code for wealthier families, not smarter or better but they like to pretend that.

Wealthier because they're smarter. Who wants to live in the slums near the gangs? Dumb people

Parents should propose this option. Flo should make their ap available to modify so the WJ Woodward disparity can be balanced and the unclean DCC people are sent to both schools.

Not always smarter. What gangs? Have you looked at all the violence in wealthier or do you just pretend it’s not happening?

Yes, it’s common sense to pick schools with smaller classes.

That's a great point. Having 60% FARMS may be worse than having 80% FARMS. It will make school worse and not better. It's too simplistic to think that high FARMS is always worse.

Look at the farms and income data for those zip codes. Everyone has a household income at $300k+? $600k? You're a moron for putting yourself in the hood
