Do you have a urinal in your house?

If so, what model? Thanks!

(Yes I am putting one in my new home. 2 boys + DH = necessity)

Gads, I'd love a urinal in our house. I'm guessing you have a large bathroom to put in one. /envy

LOL! Great idea. Anything to keep the floor from smelling a mere hour after cleaning it.

Yes. IDK what it is but it flushes by motion detection. We are on well water, and the hard water stains (despite a Culligan system) are a problem. DH and son love it, though.

We used to drink out of our bidet when we were little-I guess our parents didn't bother to tell us what it was for

That's boss.

My son thinks that is what the shower is for......

OP here - thanks for the laughs. Yeah, 2 boys and years ahead of us.. After I saw this, I was sold: http://www.shitmykidsruined.com/page/16/

I found a waterless one that looks much nicer and is shaped more like a bowl, but DH is giving me a hard time. I think it's more logical to pee in a deep bowl than at a flat or slightly curved wall. Less splashing.

We are building new and have a long, skinny bathroom for the kids so it was a no brainer. It will be our guest bathroom and I'm tired of doing a full-out toilet clean every time my MIL comes to visit because the boys and DH can't remember to put the seat up. Not to mention, the puddle surprises when the 4yo misses but doesn't realize he's dribbling down the side...yeah. Ewe.

I have never heard of that website. I just went on and had a ton of laughs. I love it.

If you've ever had the misfortune of being in a men's room, haven't you noticed the overpowering stench of urine? It's because of the urinals- especially a waterless variety. Follow my logic- if urine touches something without being washed away, you will have the smell of concentrated drying urine in the bathroom.

To be honest, I don't see how avoiding the problem trumps them actually learning bathroom etiquette.

Enjoy your urinal but please also teach them how to conduct themselves in other peoples restrooms. This includes your husband.

I use the "this is the bathroom, these are the clorox wipes and this is the toilet paper and this is what they are for" approach. They are all old enough to learn etiquette with potty training. Yes I have boys.

My husband has said "you are not put on this earth to clean up after any man, including your sons and especially your husband" when they can do it themselves. Just a thought.

Urinal? If you are tall enough, the sink serves that function nicely. You can even do it while brushing your teeth.
