It concerns me that this is even still an issue. But, my concern is that racists, usually with the IQ of a tree stump, are voting McCain, not taking into consideration the climate our country, or even themselves, are in. With that & the numbers so close right now in National polls, I see "tampering", as with the last 2 elections, that will tip the election to McCain.
If that happens, we deserve the a** whippin' we're in for... |
I am not a racist, but I do not support Obama. There are other reasons not to support him. I believe if this race were Obama vs. Colin Powell, it would still be close. Obama lacks experience and that scares a number of us. |
I don't think it's fair to assume that racists are more likely to be stupid people. I've known some mighty smart racists in my time.
Also, I don't think it's fair to call McCain supporters stupid. They may be wrong, but that doesn't mean they're stupid or insincere. But I know I won't be comfortable unless Obama is waaayyyy ahead in the polls because race is one of those issues where people will tell a pollster they're going to vote for a Black man but then go into the voting booth and vote the White man. |
And a senile old man who can't remember what he says from one day to another doesn't scare you?? Come on.... |
I will be voting McCain, even though I think that he is incompetent and will be a poor president. I am just in an industry that republicans make my life easier.
FWIW, Obama would be better for most people, just not me. The lack of experience is not a concern, Bush had little coming in to the White House. |
I'm not sure that a racist admits that they're racist, just like it takes a lot before an alcoholic admits they're alcoholics. |
Surely even the most ardent Democrat can acknowledge that there are MANY policy differences between McCain and Obama and so large numbers of people that agree with the Republican policies will not vote for Obama. Same as they wouldn't have voted for Hillary is she had become the nominee (or Edwards for that matter). |

They might be book smart, but racism is just plain stupid, no matter how book smart you are. How smart is it to completely misjudge, form biased opinions and make inaccurate assumptions about people based on their skin color? Also, on the note that so many are concerned with Obama's exp. level... Bush has tons more experience than Obama, but he is one scary president. |
I disagree with you on this. The only experience Dub-ya has is one of perpetual failure. He rushes in with no experience or idea of what he is up against or rushing into; for all he knows, he's running into a building on fire. It's like giving a child a loaded gun. Dub-ya is scary because he has no forethought or intellectual skills to assess the consequences or remorse for his destructive actions. |
My parents live in Florida. I don't think they're racists, but they are not going to vote for a guy named Barack Obama because he is just too strange and foreign sounding to them. I think that alot of the older generation are not going to vote for him because he makes them feel uncomfortable. It's sad and maddening to talk to them about it, but in a lot of ways, they are the base - the people that have voted in every election since Eisenhower, that don't care if it's raining out that day, etc. They'll take their walkers and go.
That is why I think the race is so close. |
Typical left-wing comment about Bush. Did you know that Bush is the only president to have an MBA? Maybe that's why the economy has been running strong for the majority of his 8 years despite severe economic challenges at times? The latest housing crisis isn't even of his doing, but he's handling that as well. And we have yet to experience a single quarter of negative GDP growth post 9/11 even including the current housing crisis. The perception that Bush is a perpetual failure is opinion, not fact, based almost entirely on your own political perspective. I definitely don't think Bush has been one of the greatest presidents or anything, but he gets far less credit than he deserves. History will accurately judge Bush, about 50 years from now, just as it does for all presidents. Not random people posting on the Internet today. |
Ditto. |
Let me see. Some more left wing rant. He earned an MBA and by getting a free ride into Harvard on his C average grades from Yale, thanks to daddy Big Bucks, George Sr. who was the Director of the CIA at the time. Was he perpetually drunk or high on coke to help him pass his tests? Didn't he own a baseball team in TX that lost investors a lot of money? Also, didn't he lose a lot of investor money in some oil company or oil drilling shenanigans? Please clarify if these are the wistful opinions of a left-winger. The current housing crisis is a bit his and his administration's doing since Republicans and Wall Street want as little regulation as possible. If a bank is giving a $600K mortgage loan to a housekeeper who earns $35K a year without so much as adding 1+1, it's apparent they need some regulation. Dub-ya leaves the economy even weaker than the weak economy following 9/11. You are an idiot in perpetual DENIAL. Easy question for you. What has he done right? |
Opinions are like assholes. Everybody has one. BTW, Gore had even worse grades than Bush did. ![]() |
