What do you want to know? Bastien and his staff is here and will start working with his teams in a matter of weeks. Contrary to rumors they have fields at the locations promised by the club. The club and coaches are in communication with parents and players with no red flags. Whatever AB is doing or not it hasn’t even been a factor. I’m sure this perspective is bothersome to the few on this board who feel burned that STJ didn’t build a fancy stadium for their kid, but as others have said the reality of now and today is far more important and different than what has been posted about the past. |
Don’t be an idiot. Public fields aren’t known yet that far in advance for the vast majority of clubs in NOVA. I guess if you feel superior because your kid moved to the one club who had an ultra rich parent who could buy the best stadium in the region with a bar on the roof then, I guess I don’t have an answer for you. I’ll let you in on a secret. I don’t care. 🤷 |
I'm a parent thats doing summer rec. I just wanted to know more about the futsal plans. I know there are some Fridays in Loudoun. Wanted to know if there were expansion plans or if it would carry into fall. My kid will age out of FCV rec so I need to figure out fall. |
Clarification That makes it sound like i was asking about fall. I asked about summer to know if there was other stuff i was missing. |
So, you feel the need to villify the man because he made the mistake of telling you about plans for the club before the contracts were signed? |
I am a parent as well. I can’t speak to what is available for REC players but we received an email with several options for futsal training for GA players across different age groups. The dates are in July for 09/11/12 age groups and July/Aug for 10/08/07 age groups. The location is the Michael & Son Sportsplex. Probably not entirely helpful, but it is refreshing to have a real question rather than reading angry responses by a minority of parents who are no longer with the club. I feel like I may have seen an email or social media post that had more information. |
No one left FCV for a lack of fields; otherwise, they would have left last year or any year before that because FCV never had a permanent facility in Loudoun. They left because they were promised their kids would remain on GA1 and wouldn't have to go through a real tryout. The VRSC facility is just a bonus. I hope NE can deliver on the other promises CC made you. |
Just checked the website and I would recommend contacting Kurt Gordon if you are near Springfield. And Chris Pruden if you are nearer to Loudoun. They run the futsal academy and should have more information. Here is the webpage for the South/Springfield option. https://thestjamessoccer.com/futsal-academy/academy-south/ |
+1 Fields need to stay in loudoun proper. |
As long as JM continues to fund things and CC can run things unimpeded by that moron NE, I can see it being very successful (in time). |
Nah man. Trying to defend him a bit. It is a lesson learned but the man isnt the king. Not everything is in his control. |
Thank you |

I have been told that the Champions Cup Clubs have been sent out to GA clubs for the next year.
FC Virginia qualified on paper based on their results but are ineligible for Champions Cup next season based on too many teams forfeiting their playoff position and roster continuity issues? Does anyone have any information on the validity of this? Can FCV fight it as they have earned the spots? There is a HUGE difference between exposure for players in the Champions Cup vs regular GA showcase so it can have a big impact on players. |
| Why don’t you be a little clearer on who you heard this information from. Is it from the parent who hates FCV, from another parent, from a coach at FCV, or just an idea that popped into your head because you thought it would be interesting to stir the pot with unsubstantiated rumors? Maybe you right? |
ouch… those are inside fields and they are all different sizes. They will also have competition for those fields from local teams avoiding the heat |
