Sidwell waitlist

Does anyone really get off of this? Unfortunately, we didn't get in but are waitlisted. Is that just a nice way to say "no"?

Yes, we know a boy who got into 9th from the waitlist last year.

Op thank you....good to know...

what about getting in off the waitlist for a non-expansion year?

It seems like lots of people are rejected outright, so I'd guess it's a real waitlist, and not just some courtesy. Still might be a longshot though.

I am also curious if anyone ever gets off the waitlist in an non-expansion year. Thanks!

We know a girl who got off the waitlist for K last year.

DS got rejected from Pre-K. I do not believe the wait list is a nice way to say "no".

Best of luck. It seems like a nice school.

DD is very advanced for age for math and vocabulary and scored above 99 percentile on th WPPSI but got wait listed for Sidwell Pre-K. The letter from Sidwell mentioned DD is fully qualified for their Pre-K but there was not enough spots for everyone and said to call admissions office around April 2nd to find out if there will be openings.

Do they wait list a lot of kids for Pre-K?

Any experience with a pre-k wait list and then a k acceptance the following year?

I know of 2 students who applied for 7th grade (not the current class), were waitlisted and subsequently offered a spot; 1 in April or May and 1 in August.
