bought a Botox groupon awhile back and am now freaking out

Anonymous
just made an appointment for Botox. Tell me it'll be no big deal?
I'm 37 and am starting to get a deep vertical line between my eyes. I'm completely low maintenance but somehow this really bothers me.
I can't tell anyone in real life because I have a feeling they'd be shocked and think I'd lost my mind.

I'd be freaked out, too.

I'm 50 and can't imagine subjecting myself to that, absent medical necessity.

It really depends on who does it as technique varies. I had it done through groupon last year and it hurt a bit...enough to make me hesitant to do it again. I went to a different Dr. not through a groupon and it was a fantastic experience...no pain at all. BTW, you're not crazy. I am 38 and do it too. No one would ever know or guess that I'd be one to do this. I never even mentioned to my husband and he's never mentioned that I suddenly look like a freak!

I would be hesitant to use a Doctor who is promoting themselves through Groupon. I would not use Botox myself, but if I did, I would find a reputable doctor who has a strong client base w/ "natural" results. Most doctors who have a good client base do not need to offer promotions. At least, this has been my experience.

Honestly, it's not that big of a deal. I also never thought I would do it but now I do and it's virtually painless and works great. It takes about 2 weeks for the results to show. I would be picky about who did it, but the person I go to is very good and my results do not give me that frozen look.

Botox is not a big deal. I have had it done several times. The needle is tiny and you hardly feel a thing. Most drs. will offer a numbing cream but I don't need it. Ask for a natural look and not over done. I doubt that would be the case with a groupon special.

I would never do it without a doctor experienced in it. I've done it for migraines and found the skin tightening effects very uncomfortable. Given where they are injecting it, you don't want just anyone doing it.

Depends who the Groupon is for. My doc, who is very good, did a Groupon awhile back when Groupon was new and so was the recession. They were overwhelmed with the response and will never do it again. If it is someone like that, then you don't have to worry.

Hearing that my doc did Groupon, I signed up for it some months later, and there is almost nothing good on it anymore. Sigh. I missed the wave.

Depending on how deep the line is, you may need a filler. I did just Botox and had to go back 3 months later to add filler. It has been about 18 months and it just coming wearing off now. Didn't hurt, no real bleeding, just a little ice for about 30 minutes & good to go.

Can you get fillers on horizontal forehead lines? I have very deep wrinkles.

I LOVE Botox and I proudly tell everyone about it when I get it done. My crow's feet are gone and it makes such a huge difference! I get Botox every 3-4 months - and eventually you get less and less and the effect is permanent. I am thrilled with it!

I'm with the PP and love the Botox as well! I also tried fillers to my forehead and was thrilled with the results......I'm going back for more!
I did a ton of research before making the decision of who to go to. It seems like half the physicians in the area are doing Botox. Go to your GYN, and get Botox and Filler? Not me. I had a pile of names and ended up going with Dr. West in Chevy Chase. She is amazing and definitely lives up to her reputation! She's a board certified Cosmetic Dermatologist.

Never done it. Don't think it's a big deal. As long as the MD credentials are good the groupon thing wouldn't concern me (but I don'tknow groupon well so I'm not sure if the issue is that or not).
