And what of the women injured in the meantime, which could be years? Just force them to bear children they don’t want or can’t afford or aren’t sober to carry or will kill them? How nice of Biden and Schumer to observe norms. There was nothing preventing the committee from being majority democrat and there is no reason for Biden or Schumer to care about senatorial input. After what McConnell did with the Supreme Court, the Democrats should stop pretending that the old rules apply.

The membership of the committees needs to be equal by party, because the membership of the Senate is currently equal by party.
