That’s a bit of an understatement. The rest of the world is going WTF once again.

Not the people in El Salvador, or the Meloni voters in Italy, or the Poilevre voters in Canada.

Worldwide, many people, if not most, are not going WTF. They know. Now the wealthy elites, yes, they are probably surprised. But they should not be.

Oh stop with wealthy elites non sense already. The GOP is pro corporation and the party of tax breaks for the rich. The rest of the world sees you as delulu.

Why did Fortune 500 CEOs support Harris?

Stability. You'd know that if you were somewhat cultured and well read. Historically, rightwing governments bring about a lot of volatility and social upheaval which in turn brings uncertainty and instability—two things that are bad for business.

Not sure what history you're referring to? Sounds revisionist, tbh.

I’ve been an Independent since I could first vote in 1988. I gave voted for both parties in my life. But, good lord, the choices are more and more awful and both parties a huge mess. I voted for Harris, as a woman that wants choice for women and I could not vote for a traitor that incited an insurrection. That’s as unpatriotic and undemocratic you can get.

Our system is broken. Both parties suck

Toxic masculinity culture.

Democrats are really not understanding Hispanics. How do you not get that type of talk turns off many Hispanics from voting Democrat?

Do you know who the most popular president in Latin America is right now? Of course not. It is Nayib Bukele, the president of El Salvador. His approval rating is 92%, which is higher than any other leader except for the Pope. Why is he so popular? He turned the country from the murder capital of the world to the safest in the Western Hemisphere. He declared a state of emergency and threw tens of thousands of gang members in prison (often without much of a trial). The people were sick and tired of all the crime - extortions, robbery, rapes, murders. Everyone was at risk and it was too dangerous to walk around at night.

Several Latin American countries make the 10 highest homicide rate list including Mexico, Ecuador and Honduras. There is so much crime. So Hispanic immigrants and citizens who visit relative in Latin America realize how bad it can be. No one wants gang members being able to walk across the border. No one wants to be a victim of crime and realize nothing happens to the criminal. It makes all hispanics look bad when new immigrants commit horrific crimes (the only people surprised Trump is going to win Georgia are the people who haven't heard of Laken Riley). Many Hispanics want someone who is tough on crime and is going to make sure immigrants are deserving of coming in. There are unbelievable but so many true stories of Latinos being victimized or reporting crimes and police not caring (hispanic day laborers are asked to pick up trash that was allegedly Halloween costumes but get suspicious so open the trash bags a block away and realize it has body parts so they take the bags back, then go to a highway patrol station and were turned away and told to call 911, so then they went to a police station in Los Angeles and again were turned away. A day later the human remains were found dumped.)

Most Hispanics realize all the people claiming amnesty is a racket. The vast majority of Hispanics did not come and immediately ask for a handout. Why do you lump us all together?

And you make it seem as if Hispanics haven't existed in this country very long when on the West Coast Hispanics settled there first. Plenty of Hispanics have been here for a long, long time.

Why are you blaming Hispanics instead of the Democratic Party? They need to stop with ultra liberal messaging like the Latinx / anything favoring prisoners and start focusing on what their constituents want.

You mean Latinos, not Hispanics.

Hispanics voter: Here is a thoughtful analysis of why my fellow Hispanics voted for Trump.

DCUM: You are not calling yourself by the right name. Let me tell you how you are supposed to refer to yourself. I, random liberal DCUM poster, will identity-splain you now. Sorry you don’t know how to describe yourself correctly but no worries, I’ll fix you right up.

And this, my poor confused leftist friends, is why Trump won so easily.

OK, white liberals are more educated , make infinitely more money and are not going to be subjected to the inevitable onslaught of racial profiling and harassment that you—a Latino citizen, I suppose—will inevitably face when Mr mass deportations takes office. One would think you'd have a better argument as to why your kind voted for Trump other than such trivial nonsense. You're hurting youreeld by thinking you're hurting others? What an imbecile . Please remind me again, who between you and an educated white liberal stands to lose the most? Good luck.

Minorities get profiled by people in liberal neighborhoods too (ask Barack Obama-he said he was profiled when he was in the Senate many times in liberal oasis Wash DC) and they get profiled by the Dems when they mention the poor, the illegals, the criminal justice when making stump speeches to minorities . It’s patronizing and insulting as if criminality and poverty are race exclusive topics. What about the white poor?

You don’t understand that to a minority it doesn’t matter who is president.

I’m truly sorry you thought that. You are likely about to find out.

Is that a threat? What makes you think Trump won’t go after you and not just a minority? The liberals act like Trump is some boogeyman that everyone should be afraid of. I’m far more afraid of Liz Cheney and Kamala Harris unable to complete a sentence or a thought without coaching.

OK I'll bite, tell me what a liberal truly has to lode as opposed to a Latino

Democrats have become the party of flagrant lies. Trans women are women. School closures work. Hunter Biden's laptop is fake. There is no border crisis. Inflation is in your head.

You can't gaslight the country on so many issues and then have any leg to stand on in crying about disinformation.

I voted as a slap the party in the hopes the party wakes the hell up.
.

Good luck. So when struggle hits over these next four years remember it was your choice. Don’t scapegoat the Dems at that point. You sacrificed your fellow man to “slap a party.” Thanks a bunch!

PP here. I'm ready. You should have been ready too the moment Dems started lying about all the issues I raised (and much more). This is a chance for the party to make an about-face. Enough of this strong immigration policy is racism, reading grocery prices properly is disinformation, men in ugly wigs are women, kids on puberty blockers is good. No one is buying it. Race back to the center on social issues and get real on economic and immigration policy.

I'm an immigrant Black woman with an advanced degree. The moment even **I** said enough of this bullsh!t, I knew Democrats were done. All around me, I see white people lying to themselves that any minority who doesn't like where the party is headed must be a sellout or a Russian troll. Wake up and get out of your echo chamber before you lose a generation.

Don't tell the dems what to do. We owe you nothing. You have voted for your man , you want the center ? Ask him to provide you with center policies. I mean, it looks like you're on the cusp of victory and here you are telling dems what you want. Utterly laughable Ms 'black immigrant woman'.

One more thing: worry about your vagina and let others dispose of their bodies as they please. What's wrong ? Are the men in ugly wigs doing better than you on the dating market?

PP here. You're why Democrats lost. You'd rather double down on foolishness than admit your ideas are garbage. Oh, well. Trump will get the job I need him to do done.

Let us worry about us and you go enjoy your victory.

Did anyone watch his rallies and then still vote for him? Effing wild.

Same. And now, the Supreme Court is going to get to repudiate the Fourteenth Amendment when Trump's disqualification is litigated. Fun.

Show me a single country led a by a far right wing regime that was/is a bastion of stability and not a volatile shitshow.

I'll leave the Kamala piece alone because I have heard it before, but I am surprised to hear that we now are supposed to act like Liz Cheney is some sort of dummy? I disagree with Liz Cheney about almost everything except Trump, but she has always seemed like a reasonably smart person (albeit one with whom I disagree) and is at the very least a fluent speaker. But since a woman disagrees with you she must be a drooling idiot?

Spoken like a true elitist. Bet you loved the country and the electorate last election.

Harris was a terrible candidate. Trump is far from perfect, but for most Americans (who don’t live in upper NW and have a beach house), things were better 4 years ago. The majority of Americans vote with their brain and their pocketbook.

I am pretty sure that person is a troll, there is no way someone can write that hypocritical of a sentence in an unironic way.

MTG and Boebert appear to both have won, AGAIN. I can't process this or Trump's appeal and take some solace in living in a blue state.
