Lies. There were more ICE arrests in Texas than Minnesota, and no single riot, even in liberal Austin area. Same with Virginia. Even in strong blue area with a new governor who does not support ICE, no single massive protest and no ICE interference. Even democrats are divided on this issue.

I can show you the polls but I’m busy. I’m not lying though.

No one wants this.

No one wants pedophiles amd rapists rounded up?

This is the delusional left.

We do, that’s why most of the country is fighting the deployment of these Presidential Pedophile Protection Units around the country. Unqualified and unvetted scumbags are murdering people in the street and doing god knows what to the people they are kidnapping. Sexual abuse by the “agents” seems to be pretty rampant in these detention centers. ICE has done nothing but bring crime and shame to Minneapolis.

Most of the country aka Minnesota? Also, if you think these people are unqualified, there are other ways to address it, through the legal system.

No, most of the country.

We can ultimately address it by putting Miller, Noem, and everyone else involved in this on trial. It’s going to happen, we just need to put a stop to it in the meantime. The fascists are going to lose, like they always do.

The interview with his colleagues somewhat disturbing. And his father's speech admitting that he warned him not to confront LEO. Why would the parent be warning their kid who is going to the peaceful protest? My children engaged into numerous protests and it never crossed my mind to warn them about not confronting LEO, even thought they are just high schoolers.

I'm guessing they're white.

Well aren't you special. Your kids probably live in and around the DMV or NYC where for the most part the LEO are used to protestors and unlike ICE are professional. NYC and DC went through the entire BLM, NO Kings, Women's March, IMF, Pro-Choice protests with millions of protesters for and against and not one person was murdered. Oh, and the NYPD and MPD officers were constantly confronted by protesters.

Are you implying that black and asian kids have lower IQ and needs more lecturing from their parents?

https://www.cnn.com/2026/01/27/us/alex-pretti-protesters-minneapolis-invs

CNN is free. Sounds like was filming at a different location and got tackled.

From the article:

"The earlier incident started when he stopped his car after observing ICE agents chasing what he described as a family on foot, and began shouting and blowing his whistle, according to a source who asked not to be named out of fear of retribution.

Pretti later told the source that five agents tackled him and one leaned on his back – an encounter that left him with a broken rib. The agents quickly released him at the scene."

If I were walking or driving and saw a family on foot being chased by ICE, I'd like to think that I'd also stop my car, get out, blow a whistle if I had one, film the interaction if I was able to, and make lots of noise. Why? Because it's important that citizens bear witness to these acts. It's important that the people being chased know that someone witnessed the act and can act as an eyewitness. It's important that the ICE agents know that chasing a family is not the right way to do their job. I personally wouldn't tease the officers or use expletives as some public witnesses do (not saying Pretti did), but I would certainly bear witness.

Now, here's some education about protests:

There was a protest in my town just after the Floyd murder. I live 8 blocks from the area in my town where it was occurring. My son called and told me to stay away as they were using tear gas. His business is close to the periphery of where the protests were going, and he stayed there all night in case he needed to board up windows; tear gas from 5 blocks away reached his location. I did stay away, just walked a few blocks from my house to where I could hear the bangs and other noise. Both he and I supported the protests.

The Minneapolis judge who initially barred the feds from using tear gas examined the legal requirements for a TRO (not sure if it was an injunction vs TRO-- I'm not clear as to the legal distinctions). Regarding the first amendment, the government tried to argue that the fact that people who had signed declarations said they planned to continue observing--which was primarily was Pretti was doing--meant their 1st amendment rights were not being curtailed. But the judge wrote that the test of chilling effects on 1st amendment rights is not whether an individual is determined to continue to exercise them, it is whether a person of "ordinary firmness" would be reluctant to do so. All the calls from the right to stay away and stay home (hard to do when your entire city is a potential site of ICE action and you can find yourself in the middle just going about your day--like the 17 year old working at Target or the family tear gassed in their car coming home from baseball practice) simply underline the judge's statements--that the very fact that "common sense" would dictate people to stay away is evidence of the government violating free speech rights.

So sure, you can maybe avoid persecution from the govt by staying home. This is true for the people in Iran and for people in the United States. But who is the perp now?

This is extremely concerning and given the fact that they’ve been impeding an investigation, I have to wonder if the agent that killed him was aware of this. Very sus that they took his gun and ran off with it and now we’re hearing that it “accidentally” discharged while the agent was running away like he stole it. Set up? Premeditated???

Doesn't matter. Doesn't change the facts of what we can clearly see with our eyes. Doesn't change the facts that nothing Alex did was grounds for summary execution. Stop trying to obfuscate.

Where did I say that? I am a strong supporter that the ICE agent should be investigated, charged and brought to the court.

Yes I think that’s why people are taking this killing more seriously. Unfortunately this country often shrugs its shoulders at black men getting killed by cops and sides with Law Enforcement.

Alex is a hero. I did not realize he had prior encounter with police and went to protest with broken rib. What makes all of us staying at home and not protesting?

It is not the Minnesota police that are killing the protesters. It's the federal government. And I was responding to the poster that gave us the brilliant insight that she does not have to tell her children not to confront police while protesting. Protesters confront professional LEO all the time without being murdered. ICE agents are just unhinged, unqualified, uncouth, and thuggish.

DP. Most of the country may not be actively fighting ICE exactly like in MN (yet), but "most of the country" does not approve of ICE tactics. Trump is sensitive to polls. While he craves attention at all times, this is not the type of attention that he wants right now. It's not a good look. He's nuts, but he's not an extreme ideologue like Stephen Miller in terms of the immigration issue.

While general support for deporting violent criminals remains high, specific tactics and ICE's overall performance are now viewed unfavorably by a majority of Americans.

*June 2025: NPR/PBS News/Marist Poll
54% of U.S. adults believe ICE actions have "gone too far".

*July 2025: Quinnipiac University Poll
57% of voters disapprove of how ICE is enforcing immigration laws.

*October 2025: CBS News/YouGov Poll
53% of Americans describe ICE operations as "too tough".

*January 8–13, 2026: Wall Street Journal Poll
54% say deploying ICE to U.S. cities has "gone too far".

*January 9–12, 2026: YouGov/Economist Poll
46% support abolishing ICE, up from 27% in mid-2025.

*January 12–17, 2026: New York Times/Siena College Poll
61% of voters say ICE tactics have "gone too far".
63% disapprove of how ICE is handling its job.

*January 13, 2026: Quinnipiac University Poll
53% believe the fatal shooting of Renee Good in Minneapolis was not justified.

*January 14, 2026: YouGov Poll
53% of Americans believe the agent involved in the Renee Good shooting should face criminal charges.

*January 26, 2026: Reuters/Ipsos Poll
58% say ICE agents have gone "too far" in their crackdown.
58% of respondents disapprove of the President's overall handling of immigration.

That doesn't matter.

Alex Pretti doesn't matter in general. But it was an interesting fact. As well that he was an lgbtq.
