First it started out that after ECNL leadership brought up SY in a podcast that the change would be coming in August. Then it was a 100% lock that the decision would happen in October. Then the 100% lock SY decision moved November.

Now the November meeting that was a 100% lock on SY decision changed to "the topic will be discussed" and a decision won't happen until next summer.

Anyone else get the feeling that ECNL SY proponents are just making things up to start rumors?

Sure seems that way to me.

If you listen to people online you are a fool. Even listening to myself would indeed be foolish. But they never said on any of the podcasts this would be decided in August. All we heard was there was “momentum” towards a shift to school year. Until the podcast last month we never got anything officially out in the open. Which they said it would be settled by late October or early November I believe?

We are at a ECNL showcase in SD and a team manager at one of the large girls clubs said their director/coach said we will know sometime before thanksgiving and nothing was decided officially at this point. So no one knows for sure not even the big ECNL clubs.

Damn, I make fun of you for making things up and you reply with more made up nonsense.

So pathetic...
Please clarify what you view as made up. Thank you.

Sure thing...

The following is an exchange between 2 parents that have no clue if what they're saying is true or not "We are at a ECNL showcase in SD and a team manager at one of the large girls clubs said their director/coach said we will know sometime before thanksgiving and nothing was decided officially at this point. So no one knows for sure not even the big ECNL clubs."

So a parent team manager from another team told you that a coach or director from their team thinks that nothing has been decided but we"ll know more before thanksgiving.

1. This is second hand info
2. They're saying that nothing has been decided
3. We'll know more before thanksgiving

How is this any different than saying we'll know more when the next US Club Soccer meeting occurs?
How would you know if the exchange was made up? That doesn't seem like you would know if the conversation did or didn't happen.

I think is was made up because it most likely was.

Either way it doesn't matter because the US Cub Soccer Q4 meeting is rumored to happen in Nov and the fictional tale said that a decision won't happen until November.
"Because it mostly was" seems pretty flimsy evidence to call someone a liar.

Give me a break.

You're trying pass off 3rd person "information" as facts which is beyond flimsy evidence.

I'm simply calling your BS out for everyone to see.

This was posted by a person in the So Cal Forum Sept 16th for reference the ECNL podcast was posted Sept 25th. These were separate posts responding to various questions.

Back to July 31st cut off for age groups is incoming next year or so. The responses will be glorious when that is announced!

For now, I'm not sure if the older teams will be allowed to finish their careers out or not. My sources have confirmed it's happening but not sure on the exact time/how many ages would be grandfathered in to finish with current teams.

I heard in November it's being voted on at a us soccer board meeting so maybe shortly after that?

I would say I've heard it from enough people "in the game". Directors of big club and of big league organization in CA. I really hope it's wrong but I believe it. Where there is smoke there is....in most cases. If it's not set by the end of 2024 then I'll believe I'm wrong. I think rumors will get stronger in November as that board meeting gets closer. Otherwise, it sounds like it's happening sometime in the near future. Of course, I bet many clubs don't fully change and still keep teams as is especially the HS ages.

Interesting, at least this is real information.

DPL sounds like they're confirming that BY vs CY is being discussed but they're not taking a stand one way othe the other.

They did however confirm that is US Soccer's decision to make.

For those that dont know DPL gave birth to GA and several DPL people are on the GA board.

This likely means that both DPL and GA will defer to US Soccer for a final decision.

Are you referring to the Q4 meeting to discuss the previous Quarters results that all big organizations have?

Well I guess that other dude feels real stupid now! Lol

Why would anyone feel stupid for waiting until an official statement is made?

Also the DPL link only confirms that discussions are happening. Not what the outcome of those discussions might be.

One thing that's worth calling out is that DPL is saying that in the end it's US Soccer's decision.

DPL is just making stuff up. No organization in youth soccer actually considering this change.

We already know what the outcome is, you know also. Look in your heart. It’s already over. These talks have been going on for a while and so has the push behind the scenes.

At this point is just everyone getting their ducks in a row and Us soccer saying. Okay….

ECNL president already said more likely to happen than not. And the majority of club operators agree a one time disruption is worth it to get this right.
