weight watchers for men

Anonymous
Does anyone know of anyone on WW for Men that worked? I have been telling my dh that he should get on it (daily workout just make much difference), but I need to prove that it works.

TIA!

DH started it January 1 and has lost about 15 pounds. I've done (and been successful) on weight watchers in the past and the program is the same regardless of gender, but I think they've tweaked their website to have more male offerings/support.

My DH lost 40lbs on WW almost 3 years ago and has kept it off. He went from a 36"/38" waist to a 32" waist. He looks great.

I just started back myself last week and told my dh he should join me. (he said he will just lose weight because I am cooking/eating better ,lol). The meetings definitely consist of more women than men, but there are always at least a few men in attendance. If you think it is more likely, he could always also try just doing WW online. The online tracking app, as well as the scanner for any prepackaged items with UPC's make it even easier to keep track. I personally had better luck with going in person.

Wow - that's impressive. Is he going to the meetings or doing it online? My DH has enough meetings after work. There is no way he'll go to an additional one. Do you cook differently? Do your children eat WW friendly food?

DH is doing it entirely online. That's what I did as well. Our strategy has always been to eat super healthy for breakfast and lunch so that we have a little more freedom with dinner (the only meal where we'll all eating the same thing with our DCs). Since no food is forbidden on weight watchers, it's no problem getting DCs to eat WW friendly food. One reason we save the points for meals with them is we want them to develop healthy eating habits without focusing on calories/points/pounds, etc. DH exercises everyday.

Been doing it since middle of last year. Lost roughly 70lbs. I use it only on my iPhone, I don't go to any meetings. Works very well with an excercise plan. Creates great habits if you follow the guidelines.

My DH is doing it entirely online as well (I did it after our second child was born last year). We use the same strategy as PP, eating very healthy at breakfast and lunch to allow a little wiggle room at dinner. I cook almost exclusively from the Six O'Clock Scramble cook book, and there are very few recipes in there that are off limits. I enter the recipes into the WW Online recipe creater, and it calculates the points per serving. We just pay closer attention to the stated portions than we would have in the past.

I haven't been in a few years since we moved, but the WW in Fairfax (by Artie's) has a leader named Wayne who does (or did) the Saturday morning sessions. He was amazing and really packed everyone in. Might be worth a trip. He lost like 80 lbs years ago and was so motivational.
