| Need a boy name and trying to avoid overused/trendy ones. What are the overused common boy names these days? |
|
Aiden, Henry and Jack all seem to be huge in this area at the moment.
Names like Oliver, Theo, Nathaniel and Finn aren't as popular yet but gaining quickly. |
| Jacob is a popular one, but I do like Ethan and Mason. |
| Gray/Grey/Greyson/any other variation. |
|
Yeah, any of the -den names. Caiden, Aiden, Braeden, Jaiden...
|
| If you want to know what's popular nationally or by State, look at the Social Security list. Of course, those lists won't be an exact reflection of what's popular in the greater DC region or in your neighborhood. |
| If it is a favorite of yours, who cares? I have a 12 year old Jack. Some people said it was too trendy then..long trend..I still love the name! |
I love all these names! |
| There is a Breadon, Aiden and Greyson in one of my daughters playgroups. It's hard to keep from laughing. |
| I think the SSA list will do a breakdown by state and DC. Ssa.gov. |
I do too. Guess that's why they're so popular! |
| I agree that you should go with whatever name you like, even if it's popular, but the ones I'm personally a little sick of: Jack, Oliver, Ethan, Alexander, Max, and Finn is getting there. Can't get over the Finn/Glee connection... |
| Jaxon and Oliver and Miles and Aiden. |
| Anything with an extraneous X or Y |
| I'd check out the mumsnet baby names forum if you want to avoid trendy names. They seem to be a couple years ahead of US trends in the UK. |
