I really hate to complain, but love to vent anonymously, so here I go-
I stay at home with my toddler and days like this just suck. It’s so gray outside and since there is no sun it makes it hard for us to stay outside without getting chilly. I had grand plans to hit a museum today, but got lazy and changed my mind. Maybe it’s SAD, but I really hate this time of year in DC. Ugh, I am such a downer. |

Nah, you're just human.
Let you toddler pelt you with toys while you read a book. Let everything take too much time. Make a dinner of toasted cheese and hot chocolate. It's sort of what I have planned today after pick up. |
| I've always said, I'd love to be a SAHM from about April through September, and then work the rest of the year. |
|
Don't know where you live, but there are tons of indoor play areas. I have a subscription to Our Kids, which lists ALL of them. I don't know what I would do without the Alexandria Soft Room. My toddler can literally bounce off the walls while I relax and chat with parents. Or not. Sometimes I just chill.
And you are human! Lots of parents feel just like you do. |
| I'm with you. My three year old and I haven't left the house today. |
| Playdate!!! nap!! |
| The HARDEST JOB in the world. |
|
Take him to a park.
Bundle up. I'm sure there are SAHMs in North Dakota. |
| If it makes you feel better I always dream of being a SAHM when the weather is cold and dreary. I hate having to get the kids up and bundled and out the door on cold days. I hate freezing to death in skirts and pantyhose. I would kill to be in jeans and socks. I would love to be able to just stay inside with the kids. I am so happy that the icey weather is hitting tomorrow and not today because we'll just stay inside. |
| Threads like this are depressing. Put your kid in daycare and get a job. |
| Chick FiL a play area! |
You are depressing. Get your tubes tied and get a life. |
| Actually, I feel like this year has been SO much better weather-wise than in the past couple of years. Last year my then 3 year old would complain like crazy that the wind was too cold. Now she begs to go outside. I bundle her and her 2 year old brother out and we play for at least 20 minutes unless it's raining. Yes, days like this are no fun, but overall I've been happy with this winter. |
| It is not the weather sweetie, it is you being lazy. Get up, go out and do something with your child. It does not have to be out in the cold. Lots of things to do in heated buildings for you and your child... |
| I give myself permission to make some days stay-home days, some days errands days, and some days fun out of the house. It's ok to stay home when it's cold! Make bath time extra long and fun, do a dance party with your toddler to pump your mood up, and don't worry about being lazy and hunkering down. |
