Private & Independent Schools
| With all those lawsuits for nonpayment out there, maybe word has gotten around in the vendor community. |
| Just saw a “Whittle” magnet on the back of a car on Foxhall. Kind of made me sad. |
Yes, it is sad that someone that foolish has money. |
You’ve got to be joking. Intelligence has nothing to do with money, some of the dumbest people at STA are the wealthiest. |
Wouldn’t you agree that’s sad? -NP |
Yes, I’m aware- I’ve been around private schools for a long time. Half the families make a strong case for reinstatement of poll taxes. |

Regarding this one
"We have not yet finalized terms with a new food service provider, and we ask that you continue to have your child bring lunch to school next week, Monday, March 28th through Thursday, March 31st. On Friday, April 1st, we will provide pizza for all staff and students. We will follow up and report back to you next week regarding the status of food service for the following week" Seems he neglected to mention that Ridgewells sued them in Maryland court in February.. |
| Why would they? What a weird post. Ridgewells sucks anyway |
| Ridgewells was their prior food service provider....if the prior provider is filing against them for non-payment and breach of contract, hard to imagine a new one will agree to contract with them. Flik Catering has also filed against them.. |
| Has any current family received a tuition invoice from WSS for the 2022-2023 year yet? We are a current family, but have not received any tuition invoice on TADS when it is well past the time for one. Not that it matters to us anyways because we will not be returning. It's just a question out of pure curiosity. |

Hi, former parent here. I'm curious about the most recent email - when CW talks about the "larger transaction" is that still the one that was part 1 of 3, where part 1 was supposed to fund the school through the end of this year and parts 2 and 3 were going to give the school funds through 2024? I recall him saying that once part 1 is done the investors (for reasons he didn't say) were very likely to go forward with 2 and 3.
But that suggests that if the school doesn't realistically have a future the investors might be unlikely to do part 1 because parts 2 and 3 probably assume that there will be a school. So sorry for everyone who is still there. I hope the school limps to the end of the year and everyone finds a better place for next year. |
Do they know you aren't returning? Maybe that is why? |
The email pasted from last week said to expect information on re-enrollment in the next couple of weeks. |
They’re expensive as heck but their food is good. At least 2 schools that switch from them to Flik have saved $$$ but had nothing but complaints. |
PP here. We never let WSS know that we are not returning. The school never asked current student families either about return plans for the next school year. Either way, it is unprofessional for a school to not have billing plans at this time of the year. We got so tired of so many different types of nonsense and delays (in the form of it is going to happen, the money is coming, etc.) that we just decided to call it quits. |
