Lindsey has been making promises too.

Clyde is a pathological liar. Please don't compare. L is a great coach and person.

You have no idea what you're talking about. Clyde is one of the most honest, humble and professional coaches in all of youth soccer. He's respected and trusted by top college coaches throughout the country and one of the main reasons why McLean continues to have the successful college placement that it does.

CW is awesome but please stop talking about college placement. College placement, college placement, college placement, we get it. But when are we going to talk about the ugly side of that placement?

Not knocking kids here but How many times have we seen McLean place D2 level kids into Major D1 colleges? And then 1 year later those kids are either in the portal or thinking about quitting because they are the 27th player on their roster? But thats not important.

Eat those orange slices, Suzie…it’s halftime.

How is that the club's fault what the hell? Pretty sure any kid would take a D1 offer over a D2 regardless of where they think they are at

If their goal is to play they shouldn’t. But you know McLean needs to inflate those numbers.

The club is supposed to assist them in getting them to the appropriate college level.

Plenty of things to say about this merger, but this is dumb. The club is supposed to help reach their goals. That’s individual to each kid. Some might be happy on the bench in the school/major they want. Others might want to play for a small lower division team. The kids ultimately choose where they want to go. The coaches/club just help them get to that point, and maybe sometimes that’s a reach. They’re still kids and projecting them 2-3 out is hard in any case.

Even if true, that's not the knock on CW you think it is. Ultimately, it's on the kids and their families to find the best fit. It's the club's role to give them the best opportunities to play at the highest level. How they use that opportunity on on the families.

Did he email BRYC and VYS families too?

Why is the Technical Director at GFR sending out emails like that to Mclean ECNL families...that seems wierd..I guess GFR does care about girls youth soccer just not at their own club

Getting real desperate. Parents seeing through the BS that is NM. How is he not in violation of conflict of interest. No other club would allow you to be TD of another club and coach in another. McLean is a joke. LW and CW gettting paid by NM to allow him to do whatever he wants. Someone nont should look into this.

And a stupid email at that.

NM never misses a chance to take a shot at the boys side. Saying negative things about coaches to parents is not a good look. Those teams are part of your club too.

The last part of that email was really interesting. ‘If anyone has attended another ID session or is thinking about it and has not talked to their coach, I encourage you to reach about before making a decision.’

If anyone knows how NM has dealt with these situations in the past then I highly advise you to not say anything. Besides, they already know this information anyway. You can’t continuously brag about the quality of your program and in the same breath try to control what every family does. What some might call a strategic move to retain players sounds like a lack of confidence on Mclean’s part.

Ask around. Ask some of the McLean alum parents how NM has treated McLean players after finding out they attended other ID sessions. That dog house is real.

The reason is not to retaliate against kids. It's to make sure he can try to retain players before they accept offers elsewhere. Speaking from experience.

MV sent the email today saying all current brave and Union players are welcome at tonight’s tryouts but rest is invite only. Anyone get that invite and, if so, what age and boy/girl?

I have read the email 3 times now and don’t see anywhere he said anything bad about the boys.

As a parent, I have no insights because he doesn't talk much to me. My child likes playing on his team. That makes me like him. End of story.

Thanks MV but American parents don’t post like this. Nice try but good to see you’re still monitoring the forum.

Haha! This is funny. You're right. I'm not American. But I'm not Dutch either.

a few of the girls showed up to nva id sessions. Definitely some shake ups coming

Yes, sky is blue.
oh u must be from nva… my condolences if dd is displaced by a union kid… rl to the rescue

You're not a parent. No parent would ever say this about a teen girl. Get out of this forum please.

This is soccer not government contracts. There is no such thing conflict of interest.

Soccer is one big community where coaches can coach multiple team in different club

They can also do private training or own a company to training

You can also pay them for “training sessions,” contribute to their “charity,” or pay their consulting company to evaluate and the help place your DC into a college soccer program. No conflict at all there.

The RL players getting D1 offers are the ones who are cut from ecnl at a younger age or had the potential but just never did it. Your average RL player is a decent lower to mid-level D3 player. That is very respectable, you have to remember only a small percentage of soccer players even play in college in the first place.

MV is the U12-15 DOC and BL is the U16-19 DOC. NM is the overall ECNL DOC.
