Samuel Charap should have at least waited until the counter offensive started, lol. Bunch of dumb ass Realists like Mearsheimer that never understood the meaning of Melos and are still clinging to their lazy Feb 2022 hot takes.

Yep. It's still far too early for armchair quarterbacking. And, Ukraine is still largely in the probing and feinting phase. The counteroffensive is only just getting started.

Ukraine can expect losses on any offensive maneuver.

They just need to get air defenses up where they want to attack; but the challenge is those radars will give it away unless they walk up decoys and defenses across the front. Air defense is like its own war going on within a war. And they take time to move and not risk other critical personnel and material.

You cannot protect everything - so it will take some time to play a game of chess.

Foreign Affairs and RAND are Russian trolls? Is the BBC?

To be clear, nobody said Foreign Affairs or BBC were Russian trolls. What's being said is that you are a troll citing cherry picked opinion pieces as if they were somehow definitive and authoritative. But of course you already knew that, because you are a dishonest troll.

There is nothing definitive or authoritative around this war. You look stupid when you say BBC isn’t a troll but citing it is trolling. Everyone cherry-picks. Including you.

Negotiated end is not beneficial for 🇺🇸

Then why is Trump insisting on negotiating with Putin?

Trump does not care about US interests.

Trump is partial to his own interests which means a non-sanctioned Russia.

Trump doesn’t cRe about russian interests but trump business def is affected by us-Russian antagonism.

🇺🇸 interests on the other hand flow from older anglo tradition — which is to see Russia broken up.

It’s why British have been the most aggressive since the start.

Any euro hegemon is an existential threat to 🇬🇧 - napoleon, kaiser, hitler, putin.

The counter-offensive, like the weather, is heating up.

Total Ukrainian victory grows closer with each passing day.

And yet more chaos on the Russian side. Kadyrov's cousin and right hand man, top Chechen enforcer, member of the Duma, and leader in the Ukraine invasion, Adam Delimkhanov has apparently been hit and is either dead, wounded or otherwise unaccounted for. Reportedly a desperate Kadyrov even offered Ukraine intel services a reward for helping find him - and Russian telegram channels are claiming that Prigozhin's people gave Ukraine his coordinates.

Ukraine MoD is still being very tight lipped about operations but some things have apparently been too good to keep under wraps, like video of almost an entire battalion of Russian MSTA self-propelled artillery being systemically wiped out in a matter of minutes via high-precision blasts. Russian telegram channels and milbloggers also keep admitting that Ukraine is advancing and taking several villages every day.

The main Ukrainian forces have not been committed to battle; so unless Ukraine has something ultra new tactic the main offensive has not begun- unless their main force is a bunch of inflatables like america used to fool the Germans.

I’d like to see a sneak flank through Russian territory cutting off south western Russia from the war - but I do not think they have enough resources for that. But if would be cool for Ukraine to occupy a good chunk of Russia for a while.

Those silly Russian bots trying to spread propaganda are just having the hardest time lol.

So are the folks who bleat impotently that they “just want peace!” Or aka they basically don’t like to think too hard about geopolitics and allies and all that hard stuff, and would like Ukraine to just get annexed. So they can fk off.

Yes we know. You're the only one allowed to have a point of view. Anything that deviates is trollish or stupid.

Poland is eager to get in the fight for any reason. They really, really hate Russians.
And they have a better military than Ukraine.

I was in Krakow and Warsaw this year and Polish people are not eager to fight. They are eager to make money on this war, but they dont' care to die for Ukrainian soil.

LOL as the BBC item above shows, this desire isn't universal even amongst the Ukrainians themselves.

Just wait until you hear about russian support for their invasion. They just declared that all the PMC's have to sign contracts with the MOD and got rid of medical and critical specialty exemptions. Oh, and the also get killed by their own comrades if they retreat or get captured. And wait there's more, the Chechens, who are getting paid 3x the mobiks have been sent to Belgorod to shoot the cadets and conscripts if theyk run away. What a country!

Anyways, it's all irrelevant until this counter-offensive is over. Has it even begun yet? Where are the Challengers all

Are you also a Ukrainian living in the US?
It’s interesting to observe the two Ukrainians arguing lol

Nope. But guess what I just heard. This year's summer internship program for students in russia is the opportunity to "rebuild" infrastructure in Mariopul or to provide "healthcare" in Luhansk. Sign up quick, spaces are limited. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Sadly, it will be for a lot of them.
