Annoying moms

Anonymous
It really doesn't bug me so much. A kid sitting in a stroller, with their knees up to their chests, just look stupid.

I walk all over with my children, and they hold my hand. I have developed a system where they both hold the same hand, leaving my other hand free to carry other objects. I would much rather my children walk, than be fat cats sitting in a stroller until they are six.

Parents that stuff their huge 4 or 5 year old into a stroller. People - teach that kid to WALK!

Please - I'd like to have you care for my kids for a day. Just try having the almost 4-year old walk to the park with the 2 year old in the stroller - the 2 year old will scream the whole way because he isn't walking. If you do let him (or the almost 4 year old) walk, by the time you've walked the full mile up and down hills, it will be time to go home and they'll be screaming for lunch. Pick up the older one from school at 3pm and ask her to walk home (1/2 mile) when you're in a hurry. She'll happily walk, but it'll take you about half an hour. You'll miss whatever you were hurrying to do.

I feel fortunate to live in a neighborhood where I only get in the car to go to work or the grocery store. But it couldn't be done without the stroller.

My thoughts exactly. Thank you! Plus, even though I'm not an environmentalist my any means, it does make me happy to know that I'm not driving a car around doing errands all day. We love to walk everywhere - it's one of the reasons we live in the city.

moms who's wedding ring is such a trophy ring from her husband...but they'll live in the most impractical smallest house

This is not a jab at Maynie - I like her posts. But I dislike babycenter.com message board b/c everyone mom has a thousand pictures as their avitar or signature, with names and ages (in months) of their children, all in purple and pink curly cue letters. That's annoying. That's one of the reasons why I cannot stand to be on babycenter's boards.

I have to say it's a little creepy looking. Like the baby is in heaven or something.

What about annoying dads! I can't stand dads that act stupid, clueless when it comes to raising kids. It's not rocket science and I hate it when they think they are just so adorable in their dumbness. My husband sometimes falls into this category and it drives me nuts! You build brdges and you can't put on a stupid diaper?

Oh please. If you live in the city and walk everywhere, your child will need a break. I think that sitting in a stroller in the fresh air is way better than driving your kid around in a carseat all day. Watching DVDs in the back seat probably...

To each their own.

Agree - I would rather have my kid in the stroller than in the backseat watching DVD's! By the way - those DVD players are annoying - good for a long trip (we have used oone) but what a bad habit to get your kids into.

Why? Why is it such a bad habit? Not like they are going to be doing that much else in the car. Read a book - doubtful. They would otherwise be looking at the window and listening to music. My 2.5 year old loves watching our DVD player in the car. He barely watches any other TV, so I'm curious as to the bad habit it is causing...

It's a bad habit because HE'S WATCHING TV every time he gets into the car. Egads. And people are complaining about kids in strollers???

OMG - that would be all of 20 minutes/day (and not every day) for my kids!!! The horror!!!

Seriously - how much time do your children spend in the car every day? I live in OT and my kids don't drive much, so the DVD player doesn't bother me. I'm a "everything in moderation" kind of person. And my 2.5 year old has a great imagination - the 20 minutes in the car watching TV hasn't killed it yet!!

On long car trips (which we do infrequently) I agree that the DVD player being on constantly would be annoying, but it helps pass the time for part of it. The other part is spent playing games, etc.

Some of you need to chill out with all your rules re: what your children CAN'T do.
