Both Billy Idol And Lenny Kravitz are in a gross category, just like any person who is overly posey with that "I'm sexy, look at me" stare. That's what's gross, almost always.

Lenny Kravitz is often half-naked because he actually looks terrible in clothes. His lack of impressive height, almost no neck and disproportionately big head over those otherwise good shoulders are not appealing.

I grew up pretty sheltered, and at age 11 on my first transatlantic flight I had a screen to myself and happened upon the music video to "Sex Bomb." Seriously. I look at it now and it's so awkwardly gross but I pretty much had one of those first "feelings" watching that old man moving around with explicitly sexual lyrics. Never something I would admit without anonymity!!! LOL! Gross, yes. Hot... I thought so one time.

This was intentional casting. He purposely looks disheveled- like he hasn't shaved in a few days, missed a shower, wears a shirt slightly too large/untucked, gives off slightly creepy vibes, like he wants to be close and friendly with you although you don't know him....
Market research showed that a slightly "off" character creates more remembrance and talk. If the man were just traditionally handsome and clean-cut, he wouldn't even be remembered.

Calm down. Eminem is a great choice for this thread. Not my choice but still great. He's HOT (yes, a living legend) but he's gross because if he weren't eminem, just some scruff on the street with tattoos and no job, no formal education (DCUM hates that) and not making six figures, nobody here would date him.

I’m so fascinated by this perception of “gross”. How old are most PPs? I’m going to guess 30s or less. As Gen X, I don’t intertwine a guy’s success on his hot factor. And the use of gross in this thread seems basically a euphemism for bad boy. Gross is not the word I would use.
