Unpopular Entertainment Opinions

I was happy when they killed the Black Widow character in Avengers. Scarlett was horrible in the role and the character was annoying.

I don’t care if he’s wacky or has crazy beliefs. He is crazy talented.

Agreed. Tom Cruise’s performance in Rain Man was brilliant. Watch it again, he deserved an Oscar, I’m serious.

Agreed. I think part of his insane talent is that every time I see him in a movie, I forget what a weirdo he is. He's also awesome in A Few Good Men. The Outsiders, Taps. Born on the Fourth of July. The Firm. Even Risky Business, he is really excellent in.
Everyone remembers Top Gun and the MI series, but those are basically crap movies, although he's fine in them. Of his action flicks, I like Minority Report and Edge of Tomorrow best.

Jack Black and Will Ferrell are both extremely talented and extremely underrated.

Tom Cruise is great even though he’s weird as hell.

Thank you for finally putting words to the reaction I have to him. Pointy ferret. Yep.

+1. It's hard to buy him as a romantic lead because I can't imagine anyone finding him attractive.

Yes, me too. A poor woman's Chris Evans -- if you like the pale sandy haired skinny type, Chris Evans is the guy.

Ahhhh my people. Love Tom Cruise. I almost fell out of my chair when he showed up in Tropic Thunder.

Anonymous wrote:Four Weddings and a Funeral was great but Andie McDowell was AWFUL. Why could they not give Hugh Grant a better American love interest? One who could act?

This is not an unpopular opinion. Everyone has always recognized that Andie McDowell cannot act. She was a print model that somehow got a few acting jobs. I assume there's some back story there.

South Park is the best long running TV show, it has evolved with the times and stays fresh and funny. I’ve seen almost every episode and have a quote or reference for almost every occasion!

To start, I think Lady Gaga is the dumbest name ever. Yes, I know where it comes from. Still think there's a better name for her than "Lady Gaga"

I hate Schitt's Creek - I have tried several times to watch it and I find all the characters insufferable and the writing merely average. I cannot understand the accolades.

Taylor Swift has never been good.

Agree completely with the first. But I can't help but like Taylor Swift - even if I do laugh everytime I hear bandaids can't fix bullet holes.

Anonymous wrote:Entertainment is a business and we know very little about these people personally (maybe more since the advent of social media, but that's managed, too). There is a whole industry dedicated to images. It's all a game. Idly flipping through a celebrity rag is one thing, but discussing and following celebrities avidly is super low class to me.

That's my unpopular opinion.

Then why are you here?

I'll go one further on the Moulin Rouge and Titanic haters and say that, while I really like Nicole Kidman and Kate Winslet as people, I think they are both very stiff, fake sounding actresses.

The only thing I've ever liked Kate Winslet in is Eternal Sunshine (because she's good at playing space cadet), and the only stuff I think Nicole Kidman is good in are the dumb rom coms like Far and Away (because she has really stellar natural smile, so when she's playing something light, she's okay). Hated her in all her serious stuff like The Hours, Eyes Wide Shut, etc....she always seems like she's trying so hard to cover her accent that she sounds like an awkward robot.

Coldplay is not a good band.

PP you're responding to here. I don't find Chris Evans attractive either. He just doesn't have a handsome face.

Is that unpopular? I thought everyone knew that.
