This is how I feel about Taylor Swift. She is the most basic artist and yet is praised like she is special. She cannot sing or dance. All of her music sounds similar. Winning artist of the decade was a smack in the face to actually talented artists.

Agreed. The level of dislike for Beyoncé is unreal. She hasn’t even given an interview in years. I can see not liking her music but to say she is not talented is crazy. She can ousting Taylor Swift, Billie E etc in her sleep. I frankly think it’s her beauty that drives some women crazy.

Or the fact that she is a money grubber with no soul.

That seems excessive. I don’t think Beyoncé is a very good singer (fight me. I think Kelly Rowland is better; Bey is given to theatrics that her voice can’t totally manage), but she is amazingly talented at some stuff, like curation of her image and that of her albums.

So talented at narcissism?

Fine, then let’s redo The Color Purple with an all white cast. It was performative and you know it.

And? Does it personally hurt you to see minority people getting “White” roles after decades of White actors playing minority roles in dark face?

I think we were supposed to be impressed that Karen learned the word "performative," which, in a literal sense, it was. But a Latinx guy writing and casting a musical that draws on Black genres and casts Latinx, Black, and Asian actors, singers, and dancers is making a sustained point that is consistent with LMM's work for social justice.

Performative is Trump holding up a Bible or Nancy Pelosi kneeing in a kente cloth stole.

Plus it seems performative and SJW-ish that a majority of the actors were black when many of the historical figures were white. It would be totally unacceptable to feature white actors playing historical black figures.

Somebody come get Meemaw before she starts spouting about "reverse racism" and how she "don't care if you're black, white, or purple"

PP is completely correct and making personal attacks only hurts you!

How do you know her name isn't Yolanda? Resorting to race baiting because the PP is actually correct....

I don't think you have to worry. It's oh so yesterday along with Nat K. Cole etc.

Same for all the country music super stars. They're all cocaine addicted serial cheaters who live in 15,000 sq/ft mansions...while they sing about humble roots, God, and how they love the simple things.

Rap, RnB, and pop music in general is disgusting filth engineered to subvert youth.

Then make a musical that represents the experiences and historical figures of those cultures instead pretending that white historical figures weren’t white. Sorry, it is stupid. If that makes me a “Karen,” (the convenient SJW catchall dig for every woman who doesn’t agree with them), I don’t give a sh!t.

Agreed. That show was brilliant. Anyone who disliked it was too stupid and/or slow to understand it.

He didn’t deserve to get lumped in with the metoo movement and I don’t think he did anything wrong.

I wouldn't go so far as to say he didn't do anything wrong, but I also think he's brilliant and I hope he keeps producing content.

And the actor’s incessant whipped fawning over hid wife is vomit worthy.
