Independent schools and "advanced" kids: national problem?

Sorry, I should have addressed my "please stop" to just the last poster, not to the last two posters. Don't want to offend anybody unnecessarily.

For 17:35 - I'd suggest you post your questions on the MoCo forum, where you'll probably get a broader range of experience with the magnets. I'm 17:31 and 17:39, and I've tried to help where I can (I have two kids in magnets, and one in CTY, and both kids previously did private). But I'm guessing you don't need a lot of info on the mechanics of applying to either the magnets or CTY (especially since you say your kid is already in CTY).

On the MoCo forum you would probably get a broader range of peoples' experience with the magnet application process itself, with acceptances/rejections, and with how the magnets did or did not meet their expectations.

To the last two posters: please stop, you're creeping me out! I'm 17:39 (and not the NIH or GW posters you apparently also think you're addressing), and both my kids are already in magnets, and one of them is in CTY, so I don't need advice on these fronts. And I really, really, want to stay away from all the weirdness and just help the poster asking about MoCo magnets.

To Board members, schizophrenic woman (18:18) is back now. She claims she is 17:39. Not true, since 17:39 for is the NIH poster (myself). Her purposeful and willful trickery and smear tactics will undoutedly catch up with her/him. To poster 17:35, I apologise for the behavior of 18:18. If you need further advise regarding the MCPS magnet programs at TMPS or Blair, CTY or any other issues related to education of young children, I'd be more than happy to share my experiences off line. Since, I also personally attended both public schools and prestigious private schools and colleges I will share my perspectives from both vantage points, if you wish, off-line. Unfortunately, this poster (18:30) has exhibited this longstanding behavior many times before and she will continue to create interference with her smear tactics and "sock pocketting" to use the expression I have come to learn on these boards.

Pax vobiscum.

There are two posts with a time stamp of 17:39. The PP seems to be confounding them (even if she's able to google Latin phrases). OMG, she seems INSANE!

I'm 18:18 and 18:20, and to the poster with questions, I earnestly suggest you get the heck out of here and go to the Maryland public school forums. May you find some sane respondents there. Let's close this thread down.

OK, the 19:03 NIH poster is a total ass, but I think my new favorite phrase is "sock pocketing."
