Anti-Trump bias in Montgomery County

PP, get over yourself. You are "allowed" to have whatever opinions you want. What you are actually looking for is for people to praise you for having vile opinions. Grow up and stop being such a baby. Have whatever opinions you want, and accept the responsibility for them.

Don't pay attention to all the vitriol on this site. I have the feeling they are just a few basement dwellers who have nothing better to do.

? Vast majority in MoCo do not support Trump. You think the vast majority on here are basement dwellers rather than scientists, lawyers, doctors, etc? Um.ok.

He sucks as a president (esp his rhetoric), but how has minorities suffered under Trump?

Clearly, you are not a minority if you can say this.

The vitriol against minorities has ratcheted up since Trump made coming out of the racist closet acceptable.

Not everything is about money.

-signed a minority and former R who makes six figures and got a huge tax break, but I'd give it up to get Trump out of office.

Meanwhile none of you have answered why Montgomery County elects socialist leftists to its local government.

... Trump inherited the uptick in the economy from Obama. Historically, the economy has done better under D potus than R. That's a statistical fact.
.... I LOL at "he is against cancel culture".. what do you call the "boycott xyz company" that Trump tweets every so often
... capitalism has its flaws, as does deregulation. It allows for corrupt people like Trump to swindle consumers and small businesses, like Trump, and trash the environment.
.. Trump cares zero about middle America people, only in so far as he can get votes. He and his family are the swamp. The amount of money he has siphoned off from taxpayers to his hotels is staggering. Barr was right.. outside of the DC area, people don't care about emoluments and ethics violations. That's why Trump is able to get away with his swampy behavior
.. Trump is an elitist. He even said he's more elite than liberal elites because he has more money (?) and is POTUS. How much more elitist can you get than Trump who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. How much do you think such a man can empathize with middle Americans?
.. Trump likes to throw toddler tantrums
.. Trump insults our military service people, including generals who he thinks are not as smart as he is
.. Has MX paid for that wall yet? Where is the great healthcare he promised? He tweeted that he did this really great thing to prevent insurance companies from denying coverage for people with pre-existing conditions. He is too stupid to realize that this was part of ACA already. What do you think of that tweet? Was he being stupid or do you believe him? Or do you just ignore his stupidity? What does that say about you?
.. He does not promote legal immigration, so much as immigration for wealthy white people. The architect of his immigration policy is a well known white nationalist. Trump's own mother was a poor, uneducated immigrant from a former sh1thole country, and his own wife lied to get her green card.
.. he doesn't speak "unPC".. he speaks "stupid".

Shall I go on?

You have not answered why you think MoCo officials are socialists. I'm starting to think you have no clue what that word really means.

Trump isn’t conservative or Republican, he’s a wannabe dictator who hates republican government. So yeah, I assume if I’m talking to you, whatever your policy opinions, that if you believe in the Constitution and have an ounce of patriotism, you hate the man. I am conservative, by the way. If you like Trump, you’re either too stupid to know better, or you want to end democratic rule and throw out the constitution. This isn’t a Montgomery county thing, it’s an educated thinking patriot thing.

You might not like it, but Trump has shown what it takes to succeed and provide for his family. He is the emblem of American success, ruthless or not. He is aspirational and that's why we like him.
All the twitter nonsense, he is just owning the libs. He isn't serious about half of it. What matters is his economic policy which is deregulation and has succeeded more than socialism all over the world.
He shows leadership and strength, unlike Obama

MoCo leaders ARE socialists and people here voted for them. Marc Elrich is a pro-Stalin Communist. The other Council members are left wing Social Democrats, it appears they want to try a Northern European economic model in Montgomery County, which won't work and even Northern Europe are moving away from this and more towards the American system. The Council here also believes in critical race theory. But Marc Elrich is an avowed Marxist-Leninist.

LOL.. you have to be joking.. LOL You are too much PP.

The "northern European" model seems to have lead to those countries being the happiest in the world. Also, Trump seems to want more of them to immigrate to the US.

Trump is an avowed nationalist, not a R. But, I guess to you that's fine. Let me guess.. you don't see anything wrong with being a nationalist, probably because you have no idea what that really means and what it can lead to.

"Critical race theory" has zero to do with socialism, and the fact that you have linked them tells me you are also a racist.

I think you've clearly drunk the stupid koolaid.

I can’t believe there are still so many idiots out there who have been brainwashed by that pathetic excuse of a human. So sad and horrible what he has done to our country in less than four years.

Fortunately, most of the liberals I know IRL are nothing like you.
One of my best friends is a liberal. I am conservative and a Trump supporter. We can discuss politics and understand that we have differing opinions.
She knows me and my values and the way I treat others. She knows that I consistently put others first and that I spend countless hours volunteering for various causes. She knows I donate thousands of dollars to charity each year. She actually judges me FOR WHO I AM.

Same with other liberals I know. They would not dream of judging someone they don't know simply because of who they support politically.
You should try it.

I might add - I do NOT live in the DC area, so this may be why my experience is better.

Hate crimes have hit an all time high. Check the FBI statistics on hate crime.

You think being racist and supporting racist policies and giving money to charity and volunteering is mutually exclusive?

I'll be your friend OP. I live in MoCo and will be voting for him again.

I live in takoma park. I’m liberal but DH will be voting for trump. He lies about it to friends. I have to say I’m uncomfortable with the extreme liberalism in our county. ‘Hate has no home here’ but everyone hates republicans. It’s contributing to the incredible divisiveness in our country. I have a lot of family in the Midwest and it’s just not so black and white.

I also despise Marc Elrich.

I haven't read all of the responses, but I will say that the Trump presidency has given me a new understanding and respect for those who don't share my ideology. As a liberal, I never thought that people like Mitt Romney and even George Bush would look so good. Trump has really opened my eyes.

We can agree to disagree on ideology, but it is difficult for me to respectfully disagree with anyone who supports this dangerous narcissist who is untethered to any particular ideology. I don't hate Republicans, but I have a hard time with anyone who advocates for four more years of this vile man at the helm of our country.

I know, its so hypocritical it's almost funny. All the "love your neighbor" "hate has no home here" now what if you put a Trump sign in your yard in Takoma Park? Or blue lives matter? OR if you said "all lives matter"? Apparently Republican lives don't matter. Elrich is the worst, he supports Communism he even said so. The others in local government are just cultural Marxists which are bad enough.

Well....since a lot of people equate Trump with hateful, disgraceful behavior after 4 years in office, I'd say that saying "hate has no place here" is right on point. What that means is that Trump and his hateful policies have to place here.

Biden is far from an extreme liberal BTW.

I'm a democrat but very center. My H is a Republican, classic conservative, not alt-right... hates Trump.. never voted for him, never would. The extreme right has ruined the republican party and left many without a party. Hate is what the alt-right are getting from classic republicans. I don't really think you have enough republican friends to understand this. I don't think you understand the difference between a republican and what Trump is.

Elrich is a disaster, but Ficker, really, best know for being banned from Wizards games for being so abusive and disruptive.
