DC Public and Public Charter Schools
It is a pay cut!!! Look up dcps pay period schedule. It starts in January and ends in December. It doesn’t matter when we start and when we end. BUTTT if it did, we are not starting a week later. Look at the past years- we start the same week every year on the day that begins on the Monday. Compare start and end date 2011-2012 & 2012-2013 school year with this years and next years. It is a pay cut- they are doing it to teachers because they think we are dumb and would realize it...and skimming through these responses are kind of scary. When you talk to HR, they lie and try to confuse you. One person called and the person told them that we are hourly employees (WE OBVIOUSLY ARE NOT) I spoke to someone- he tried to tell me that dcps used to give teachers 2 weeks of Admin pay and they are not doing it this year- that’s why this years salary is split into 27 pay periods. So I questioned the guy “If dcps paid us an extra pay period of admin pay, we should’ve received our salary plus an extra two week pay?” ITS A PAY CUT AND TEACHERS NEED TO STOP BELIEVEINF DCPS!! When was the last time they made a good choice for teachers?!?! |
Are you under the impression that exclamation points and all caps make your point more valid? I bet you talk louder when you travel to other countries and non-English speakers don't understand your English. |
| STOP! BEING! A! JERK! |
| IT’S! A! PAY! CUT! |
Idiot Quit teaching NOW
|
Tbh I don’t think these comments are from a teacher. It’s summer. Most aren’t checking dcum. & the WTU candidate who was labeling this as a pay cut lost the election. The sad thing is he is & was likely better than liz Davis. What a mess. |
Probably not a DCPS teacher. |

Refusing to see all the crystal clear evidence that you are NOT in fact getting paid a cent less certainly seems to me like you are refusing to be anything other than a victim of DCPS. I’m also a DCPS teacher. Check PeopleSoft. Payroll is classifying the last week of school as "Non Pay Hours". |
Check PeopleSoft. Payroll is classifying the last week of school as "Non Pay Hours". I did. My pay this Friday will be $300 higher than normal!!! |
| Why are they using our Summer pay account to pay for the last week of school? |
I did. My pay this Friday will be $300 higher than normal!!! This is highly suspect 1. using Summer Payoff to pay for a week that we were working 2. paying for one additional day (the last of day of school, which came the following Monday) I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't deduct that extra $300 you are so excited about from a future paycheck |

| It’s on the paystub |
I know, but since it suspect I assume the poster who thinks it’s wrong called HR to find out what’s going on. Because your 3.7% (not a) “cut” will also be on your paystub, but people refuse to believe that works out ok. |

It's not a pay cut. It's a furlough. And this is what's behind it.
