I think the 17 year old is more poisoned by the fact that Brad Pitt assaulted him when he was drunk.

So says Angie. That was also what triggered supervised visitation while it was investigated. Nothing ever came of it and Now it is unsupervised visitation.

Hmm. No Brad Pitt also admitted this.

They were flying back from France. There was an argument. Maddox supposedly became involved. The argument was so heated that the authorities were called. Last week, Brad Pitt’s sources confirmed to PEOPLE that there was indeed an incident that got out of hand. They stressed, however, that while Brad and Maddox went “nose to nose”, Brad did not strike his son in the face.

US weekly said this:
When Jolie and Pitt boarded the private VistaJet plane from Nice, France, en route to L.A. September 14, their marriage was already beyond repair. “Their arguments,” says the Pitt friend, “progressively became more frequent.” They had another blowout during the 14-hour flight. At some point, Pitt, who had been drinking, allegedly became enraged and began yelling at Jolie. “When Maddox intervened to protect Angelina,” says a Jolie source, “Brad got up in his face and screamed at him to mind his own business.” Another insider claims closed-circuit footage exists of Pitt getting “physical” and causing “damage to the plane itself.” (According to TMZ, when the plane stopped in International Falls, Minnesota, to refuel, Pitt disembarked and tried to drive off in a fuel truck.)

Hold up, a father yelled at his teenaged son?

Eh...notice he says he didn’t strike his son in the face? That doesn’t mean he didn’t strike him.

Different poster. It almost certainly means he struck him, just not in the face. otherwise, Pitt should fire his PR team.

I think they were responding to a specific publication that alleged he hit his son in the face. My guess is that he said something nasty (probably worse than 'mind your own business') and shoved him. Unpleasant, but not irredeemable imo, especially once he put in the effort to get sober. His relationship with Jolie seemed toxic, they both stayed in it too long for the kids. But her trying to take the kids away from him is gross.

He’s a physical alcoholic that tried to steal a vehicle off a tarmac. She’s doing what a good mother does. Not so sure why Brad is getting the angel treatment here but he’s not entered into rehab and he’s barely acknowledged he has issues. Maybe fighting him all out legally is the only thing she can do when both parents have the financial means to go nuclear.

So is he.

No, he's not. He's over his head with her insanity - he's basically just a down home boy from the Midwest who fell into acting, likes to smoke pot and play architect. She's got a legitimate personality disorder.

Pretty sure he also had a pretty bad drinking problem and was becoming a temperamental drunk, which is why he and Maddox got into it. He acknowledged the drinking problem in an interview and is supposedly currently on the wagon.

People cope with living with crazy partners in various ways. Checking out and drinking too much are pretty common.

There's no way I could live with Jolie without some form of self-medication.

That all started - plus the pot use- while he was still with Aniston. He said that himself. Why do people give him such a pass? He’s awful.

The stealing the vehicle thing is an unconfirmed rumor. There are lots of them about the incident, but few are substantiated. After a 7 day closed hearing, the judge effectively accused her of parental alienation and put a reunification plan in place that favored him. After cleaning up his act and two years of "good behavior," shouldn't she want him to have a good relationship with the kids? Of course, sole custody would mean she could live wherever she wanted without his say, and she would get far more money. But I'm sure none of that was on her mind.

^^ Neither one is a fabulous person imo, but they both love the kids. It's certainly healthier for the kids to have good relationships with both parents.
