has produced 23 Rhodes Scholars. |
But hasn't had one since 2000. |
ok. Brand recognition doesn't matter to most of us. That's not how to pick a school. |
That's fine. But don't expect hiring managers to know all of the little, obscure schools. |
Unfortunately, name recognition of schools really does matter to hiring managers. My husband is a hiring manager at a large tech company. He generally throws out resumes from people who went to colleges he hasn't heard of. Now, the company is in the education space and he has worked in university administration, so he's heard of the vast majority of universities and colleges. |
employers know Davidson just fine, thanks. |
| Duke over USC, NYU, and UChicago. |

Tons of kids in my daughters school have still not committed.
Plus some sent a deposit in on a school not committed to as wait listed the schools they want to attend. My neighbors daughter accepted 17 schools and has not withdrawn one offer. Still on fence. 14 gave her Merit money. My daughter is not attending the four highest ranked schools she got into. Until they mail tuition check the deposit is meaningless. |
Harvey Mudd is no "little, obscure school." |
That is a f***load of money. She really can't decide among 17? She will have troubles next year choosing a lunch entree. |
Is anyone discussing Harvey Mudd? Maybe you have the wrong thread. |
