Every billionaire I've had any close personal knowledge about had something they did that was very, very strange. It can pedophilia or something merely embarassing/odd, but they have the means to indulge a lot of stuff and cover it up as well. Most people don't even think about this possibility and how it would come to be. Everyone has a weird thought or two occasionally but billionaires tend to get rich by being uniquely ruthless in pursuit of things. So for a billionaire the same ruthlessness pursuit of their kink or criminal inclination or whatever, instead of money, isn't all that surprising.

There are 2 issues here. First, there is an allegation that Russia has some potentially embarrassing info on Trump. Certain Russians claim to have such info. This should not be surprising, given the Soviet/Russian history. Second, and more importantly, Trump campaign and Russian intermediaries apparently had contact with each other. Why? If true, and I suspect our intelligence agencies have info on these contacts, then Trump better explain it. The more interesting question is whether the 2 issues are tied: whether the info in (1) was used in the (2) communications. Frankly, this is extremely serious and perhaps even more serious. As the facts are revealed, I suggest we may be talking impeachment. Treason.

The information from tonight has been around. David Corn from Mother Jones reported on it in October but declined to specify details because the story at that time was not verified to his satisfaction. That is not the case now.

Yes, a lot of the connections between Trump's team and Russia have been known or the subject of speculation. But this is detailed and includes lots of "new" information.

But there is a lot more than this. There is the Guardian report about the FBI FISA warrants on the Trump campaign. There is Trump's attitude toward Russia, which is otherwise unexplainable. There are reports that the IC briefed Trump on material the Russians have on him. Even if the 35-page report is not true and even if McCain had no part in it, there are lots of other details that are easily verifiable. A congressional investigation has to happen.

Let's see how Trump handles this at his presses tomorrow.

Where do you people get that its unexplainable? Russia has lots of oil, a pretty good military, it's culturally closer to the U.S. than many of our putative allies in the Middle East, and its been bombing ISIS and Al-Quaeda in Syria. I realize that isn't standard American elite fare, but it's not exactly 'unexplainable'.
