DH is a tenured law professor (225K salary) with outside income of around 100K-150K a year (this varies but has been about that for the past two years).

I am a lawyer at a mid-size firm and earn 160K plus a small bonus.

We are both in our 30's.

yes, it's MUCH, MUCH, MUCH more lucrative.

Two business owner family (we make 800k ish now, and one of our businesses will sell for $5-10m in a few years). But back when we each started our businesses we put it all on the line...very different path than most people in DC.
