? Name a white woman everyone relies around and supports for marrying a "high value" white man. I can't think of a single one.

Caroline Bassett Kennedy, people on this board are obsessed with her. I think she's plain.

A woman who has been dead for decades? Since we're talking about living people, pick someone alive today to stay relevant. Brittany Mahomes didn't marry a white man, she's not exactly worshipped. Still can't think of anyone. Could it be that women just love to tear each other down regardless of who they are married to?

I think she's stunning, yes. And that's a compliment.

Racism? Jealousy? I'm not sure.

People don’t like Amal the same reason they don’t like SJP (long midface). There’s this trend that favors shorter faces (which I personally don’t get, but it’s what it is).
As far as I know Chopra is adored by all.

Yes, people are weird about the long nose and planes on the sides of the face (which in Amal's case are under stunning cheekbones). I think it has to do with beauty standards currently that favor women who look like children (gross) and people perceive these features as "masculine" even though this is actually classical features in art that would be favored in women and men.

I think Amal is beautiful and SJP is striking (the rest of her features are not as beautiful and expressive as Amal's). But many people prefer a rounder, more childlike face on even a middle aged woman (think Salma Hayek, or Reese Witherspoon). It's interesting to me.

Whatcha talkin’ ā€˜bout, Willis? Classical features in art? Whose? Picasso’s? Look at Da Vinci, Fra Lippo Lippi, Tintoretto, Titian, Rubens, etc. The women in their art all have roundish faces. The only artists I can think of who had women with long faces were Botticelli and El Greco (and their figures were all elongated on purpose to make their work unique).

As for Amal and SJP, they look horsey and angular, not masculine. Likewise, having a round faces doesn’t make you childlike. It just makes you soft. I prefer roundish or oval faces on women, most people do, but it’s always been like that. It’s not a new found societal standard.

This. Someone with a huge honkin’ nose, horse face, and a complex is posting this nonsense.
Girl… it’s ok you got a big snozz, but we ain’t rewriting history for it.

You're allowed to have preferences, definitely, but there are objective beauty measures too.
Beauty isn't necessarily about features in isolation, it's about facial symmetry/harmony. It's why fixing one "bad" feature doesn't necessarily make you beautiful, and in some cases, can make you look worse.

Amal's nose is harmonious with her face: her eyes are relatively large, she has a wider jaw (which balances the vertical length) and her eyes are far apart. Same with Julia Roberts, whom many find beautiful. With SJP, there's a lack of harmony, and the small, close-set eyes really emphasize the length of her face.

DP but color is very much about what people feel they should be. Concepts of race are ephemeral and evolve over time. Most people don't regard Arab Muslims or Latinos as white. But give it time and they will be as white as Greeks and Italians.

Most of the pro Palestine crew are white liberals. Angelina Jolie and Ben Affleck are more vocal.

It makes me wonder if George and Amal are eyeing political office *eye roll* .

Or she could just form opinions based in the merits of the issues. Like people used to.

Doubt it especially in the case of Muslims. Muslims and I would say many Arab Christians are like Jews in the sense that even if they are white on the census , they don’t consider themselves white or identity as white because they are religious and or ethnic minorities

Don't doubt it. Many Arabs and Hispanics list themselves as white. White has many meanings-- color isn't a fact, it's a perception-- and in formerly colonized nations there are many definitions of white. Even the Nazis had a category of "honorary whites" like Asians. The Nazis used this term to denote people they included in their definition of white despite some attributes that may argue against their whiteness. The more you travel and read history, the less rigid you'll be about issues of race.

We list ourselves as white because we have no other option. It stems from the "Caucasian" category. But these terms are very reductive and I think are best to be avoided altogether. The Middle East is pretty diverse.

Because Lebanese people are as White as Greeks and Italians. Syrians, too. I can’t tell them apart. Saudis are darker, sure, but not the Lebanese. They look just like any other Mediterranean people. And a lot like Jews, too. Hmm, I wonder why, lol.

Race has nothing to do with ā€œLatino.ā€ It just means a person whose comes from Latin America. Latino can mean an indigenous person who speaks Spanish or the descendant of a German Nazi fleeing the Nuremberg Trials.

No, it's not about feelings. We learned from Rachel Dolezal that your feelings are irrelevant.

Lebanese are officially classified as white by the US government and have been since the early 20th century. Druze are pretty darn white. We are not talking about Gulf Arabs or Pakistanis.

I think Amal Clooney is absolutely stunning and striking. I also love how she carries herself with such elegance and grace.

I'm not sure why people are focusing so much on how she wouldn't look the same without makeup and good clothes. Don't we all look better with some styling? Her tall and lean figure and striking features would make her stand out regardless.

I think people do have very different standards of beauty. A lot of posters here seem to think that Kate Middleton is the epitome of beauty and I don't see it at all.
