He interviewed to be Powell's principal and wasn't selected. Sometimes what's written isn't always true once you get into an interview.

To be fair, not getting the job after an interview doesn't mean the person is horrible. Several people must be turned down in order for ONE to get the job. It's happened to us all. Just check out the Jobs & Career forum. People lament not getting the job every single day. He must've been a worthwhile candidate to even be considered. His educational background looks solid.

Panels are laughable in general. DCPS panels are even more so.

I've seen extremely qualified candidates get shut out because they obviously intimidated the rest of the panel. In some cases, it was unclear why panelists behaved in the ways they did against impressive candidates. Panelists are people with very real insecurities, biased etc.

Perhaps in the other candidate they saw a principal they could run over. Maybe someone was pulling hard for a black female to win. Mr. Sacred Heart could've reminded someone of the one night stand she had in Cuba.

You never know but I'm not cimplement convinced the gatekeepers in DCPS always make decisions based on what's best for schools or kids. Too many ego driven and insecure people.

Sure dont! And what are the chances the Powell panel knew? Did one of the panelist provide (unsubstantiated) gossip to everyone else to impact his chances???? If so, that's exactly the type of panelist behavior & outcomes I was referring to.
