Can't we all just get along?
Sela, get open and get through your first year. If you're viable, then I'm sure the rest will follow as long as you're financially stable and have a good curriculum and immersion program in place (just like MV had to do).
The rest of you: You won't run the school because that's not your job. Your jobs are to be parents who understand the nature of the program you choose for your children, support schools, disagree respectfully, and send kids who are ready to learn.
Why all the hate and name-calling? We should be so happy that DCI appears to be an option for continued language learning and inquiry-based education through the IB.

Yes, let's stay calm and stick to our specific roles and responsibilities.

Interesting, throughout these exchanges I haven't seen anyone talk about parents running the school. Having input does not = "running a school". Who are you addressing PP?

+1 Not sure why Sela keeps getting mentioned on threads that have nothing to do with Sela. The only thing Sela and DCI have in common at this point is that they don't exist yet.

After you learn English grammar, you might want to read this one again - doesn't seem to be a Selah person, and actually is one of the saner posts here...

Didn't MV get into DCI within months from opening?
Anonymous
nope. not until the beginning of its second year.

Without any CAS data, so effectively yes.

??
They got in because they had and were implementing a coherent and comprehensive inquiry-based curriculum that aligned with the IB as well as a comprehensive immersion model based on best practice. DC CAS isn't everything, honey, what's more important is curriculum and immersion.

This thread dates to Feb 2012 and mentions MV in its first post. That means MV was a whopping 5-6 months old at best. How is that considered "proving itself"?

Wacko, obsessed, wacko. Notice the title of this thread? Please open a new one titled Sela BS, and have fun there while letting others discuss other topics. Thanks.
