Oops must be some other God that wrote the Old Testament

I'm not religious, but you know God and Jesus were two different beings right? And, whatever the case, no one thinks God write the Bible, either You're like a MAGA!

she doesn't seem to realize that the chapters of the new testament are called "matthew", "mark", "luke" etc after their authors. that the "letters" were written by Saint Paul.

President Donald Trump has shared an AI-generated image of himself as a messiah.

On Sunday, April 12, Trump, 79, posted an image on Truth Social that appeared to have been inspired by Jesus Christ healing the sick. He didn’t include a caption on his post.

God is not mocked! Blasphemy and I pray he is soon eaten by worms.

So you pray to Jesus and ask in prayer for God to kill Trump?

That’s not Christianity. At all.

That person never said they were Christian.

I’m pretty sure a lot of people of many different religious affiliations including atheists are praying for God to remember the president.

Atheists are praying to God that God will kill Trump? Is that what you are saying? It sounds like it.

Maybe they just want the Lord to relieve his obvious suffering and dementia.

The same people who are virtue signaling over a painting admit to praying to God/their god to kill another human.

Again, that’s not Christianity. If you think you are in the right place because you pray for someone else’s death, I certainly am not going to change your mind. Religious or not, that’s evil.

I agree. And you don’t just need to be Christian to see a problem with this. It’s not moral, it’s not decent, it’s not the way people in an ethical society carry on. It’s one thing to say that we won’t cry when he’s gone, but it’s just abhorrent to pray or wish for someone’s death. And to the person who implied that it is just out of kindness to wish that an old man reaches the end of his life—that’s as believable as one of Trump’s lies. Let’s be better than them.

Spare us please. He made a very offensive post/joke about himself being Jesus. He is the president of the United States of America.

Anonymous dcum posters made an offensive off-color joke about praying for his demise.

Try to focus on the gorilla in the room which is the insanity of the president of the United States of America.

Seriously. And the same pearl clutchers have nothing to say when Hegseth is publicly praying for the deaths of Iranians.

I wish these people had any empathy for literally any brown or black person in this country. Like any.

I’m the poster being accused of pearl clutching. I’m black. Of fairly recent Haitian descent, to boot. So, I guess I do have empathy for “brown or black” people. (Maybe check in with your own prejudices and ask why you assume I’m white). I don’t know who you’re calling “these people”. Friends joke that I make Bernie Sanders seem alt-right. But I believe in going high. I want Trump out of office. Of course I do. But I don’t want to be a part of a society where people pray for someone’s death. I think of the republicans drawing targets on pictures of Gabby Gifford. I want to be better than that. I truly believe it’s important.

Perhaps don’t assume that everyone who has any opinion that differs from yours is the enemy?

For someone who is presenting themselves as high-minded and "going high", your posts are quite combative and judgmental. Angry really. Perhaps think about that deadly sin for a bit.

People have had it PP. I can't believe the things that pass my mind after 10 year so of this shit. We are WORN DOWN by the total horrid nature, corruption, lawlessness and endless stream of insults, lies, and filth from this POTUS. He is literally upending every part of our society and NO ONE seems to do anything to check him. We are human. He brings out the WORST in everyone and everything.

So maybe find YOUR compassion before you go putting down everyone else in this very extreme situation.

Can you quote the part where I put you down? I don’t know what you are talking about. I’m simply trying to explain a different way of looking at things and my intent was actually to calm you down. I’m in my 60s and have been at this awhile. Anger can be good but Trumpian tirades from liberals are not helpful.

If you posted more than once, you called people "evil". Pretty strong. No acknowledgment of the extremes we are living with and that we all have bad thoughts from time to time. guessing you aren't as perfect as you are making out.

Ok—I’m seeing what is happening. You are arguing with more than one person. I didn’t call anyone evil.

If you are not the evil poster, I apologize. I thought that was hypocritical of them.

I do think that people deserve a little grace right now. Trump is so beyond anything we have had to deal with in our lifetimes. The constant bile and corruption is absolutely wearing people down. Watching our country stripped of what made it good (it's never been perfect, but man he's just stripping all the good stuff away) when other people in power (Congress) could have stopped this many, many times and instead they abide it, they do nothing. It is so very very frustrating. Frustrating is not a strong enough word. I can understand the bad thoughts. Nobody is acting on them. Frankly, anyone who says they don't have bad thoughts from time to time in periods of great stress would make me suspicious.

In all seriousness, I am a cradle Catholic. Was very devoted until I was a young adult. I fell away. I’ve returned to the Church and attend faithfully.

In my heart of hearts, I do worry Trump is an Antichrist.

Here is a list:
Biblical Archetypes and Characteristics

The "Fatal Wound" and Resurrection: In Revelation 13, the beast is described as having a fatal head wound that was miraculously healed. Some observers point to Trump’s survival of an assassination attempt at a 2024 rally, where his ear was struck, or his "political resurrections" following numerous scandals and legal trials.

Boastfulness and Arrogance: Biblical prophecy describes the Antichrist as one with a "mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies". Critics frequently cite Trump’s aggressive rhetoric, self-promotion, and use of terms like "I alone can fix it" as evidence of extreme pride and self-exaltation.

The "Little Horn" (Linguistic Theory): A common, though informal, theory links the "Little Horn" of Daniel to the word "Trump," suggesting the instrument (trumpet) is a shortened form of his name.

Wealth and Gold: Proponents of this theory point to Trump’s public association with gold—including his buildings, name in gold leaf, and penchant for opulence—as a sign of a leader who worships the "god of fortresses" (or material power).

Relationship with the Church
Deception of the Faithful: The Antichrist is said to mislead even the "elect". Critics argue that Trump has "conned the church" by adopting religious language and symbols to gain political power while his personal history (e.g., divorces, business ethics) and behavior (e.g., insults, calls for jailing foes) contradict traditional Christian teachings.

Blasphemous Comparisons: Social media posts and AI-generated images—such as one depicting Trump as a Christ-like figure or Pope—have been condemned by some religious figures as blasphemous.

Religious Justification of Lawlessness: Some theologians express concern that religious leaders have shifted their standards to justify his behavior, effectively turning a political figure into a "spiritual revolution" that replaces moral reasoning with loyalty.

Political and Global Influence
The Peacemaker Archetype: Some interpretations of Daniel 9:27 suggest the Antichrist will initiate a deceptive peace or covenant, often centered on Israel. Trump’s role in the Abraham Accords and his strong alliance with Israel are sometimes viewed through this lens.

Alignment and Loyalty: Revelation describes a demand for total allegiance where "neutrality disappears". Observers note that Trump’s political movement often demands absolute loyalty, where disagreement is treated as betrayal rather than healthy debate.

Normalizing the "Non-Negotiable": The "man of lawlessness" is described as one who gradually erodes standard norms. Critics argue that Trump has normalized behavior and speech—such as threats of violence—that once would have been universally condemned.

He is openly mocking MAGA and Christians. Trump has been mocking them since roughly 2016 and he's realized that they will accept and explain away his insults and his con. Why should he abandon a working strategy? He has also shown that there is no principled MAGA position (including Republican and conservative) and they will follow obediently.

Bannon and Epstein were in emails detailing their desire to take down the Pope and Catholic Church. This is that sinister plot coming to fruition.

Their hatred of women and minorities is stronger than their love for Jesus Christ.

This is theologically incorrect. Jesus, the Hily Spirit, and God are one. God refers to itself as “we” and “I” in the bible.

Correct, and none of them wrote any parts of the Bible.

+1 to all of this. conservative Catholics have been looking in the wrong place for the evil that will attack the church. They’ve been convinced for decades hat the Communists are the true enemy of the church and yes, it’s true, look at North Korea but that’s not what’s at work here in the US. The communists never have and never will take down the US. Instead, Trump and his billionaire cronies are handling that just fine.
