They are Government's enforcers aka "Goons" for what is basically the mafia. (government in general)

They are not needed in the USA anymore at any level.

Are armed carjackings considered a squable you can handle?

Good people will be good and not unnecessarily violent with or without "laws" and "police".

True. A logger is the most dangerous job in the world for fatalities. and about 70 other professions rank above a police officer. It's not a risky job at all, just a mentally and emotionally draining one I'd assume, which is partly why so many of them snap and murder citizens.
