Feds like that are the reason contractors have work. |
You’re right. - contractor |
Most contractors make $100-225k so stop making stuff up. |
DP and lifelong DC area resident. Reagan brought the crack and Barry used it. DC was a mess, and not just because we had a terrible mayor. Trickle down economics don’t work, and lead to prostitutes walking down 14th street silicone cars stuck in rush hour traffic. It was not “booming” in the 80s, it was awful with gang wars and crim and shootings, because when people are poor and desperate they do desperate things. DC was better in the 90s, because even though the government shut down and contracted, it was done in a controlled and proper way. And everyone in the area was doing “better” in the 90s because the economy was in better shape once the Fed budget was balanced. People had confidence and hope that even if they didn’t agree with what happened, it was being done for a thoughtful and well-reasoned principle. This is not that. This is a chaos agent wreaking havoc and seeking revenge. |
I don't know what contracting world you're living in but in my world contracts are MUCH less generous today than they were in the 1990s. |
What an ignorant comment. The grift is not over it is just changing to different grifters (Trump and musk and anyone else who pays enough to them for access). |
Most American cities were he11holes in the 1970's due to white flight and disinvestment. Most American cities were hit with the AIDS and Crack epidemic in the late 1980's and early 1990's. These things were not just a DC thing. |
MLK riots hollowed out a lot of urban areas. NYC was pretty awful, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ee0HbusYpuk |
The problems were similar in many american cities, white flight, post MLK disinvestment and yes, the infusion of cocaine and crack cocaine into minority communities. |
