Absolutely worse if the club allowed this. Obnoxious |
Really? Arlington, in the mid-Atlantic, and are perpetual 3rd place, ruled over by a team in NC and VDA, of course. |
I heard boys teams are sick of travel from new ECNL conference. And lack of competition |
Change is coming |
That is what practice is for. Why would you need a RL game work on a skill? Especially if it is one of your better ECNL girls? |
And so? What does the standings mean for individual players? |
+1 |
Sure, but then why bring down the 3 other ECNL players for that game as well? Seems more like stacking the deck to ensure a result than development. Not obsessed with anyones developmental journey, not even my DDs. I'm not upset with their decision to do that, I'm just confirming that it's SOP for ASA. |

Former Arlington RL parent here; we had several girls on our team who still had ECNL patches because they got moved down and there was no point in buying new uniforms mid-cycle. They were rostered to our team and were with us the entire year.
Not saying some teams havent moved players down for specific game/reasons, but if you see somebody with an ECNL patch playing on an RL team its not some nefarious, Arlington-wide plot lol |
Are we rehashing WAGS AGAIN?! 🙄 |
3rd place is really good. Where you need to be. |

I have seen them pull kids down multiple times… but always when short handed, not just to win.
Also, in our age group the RL and NL teams usually tie when they scrimmage each other- the better RL players are stronger players than the lower NL players so it doesn’t always change things. I don’t think this is some shady tactic just to stack the team. |
| Look at the games they pull the NL kids down for I can give you a hint its not against Villareal. This is not something only Arlington does. SYC boys are notorious for doing the same thing. I am sure most clubs do this. |
My son hates playing SYC boys in tournament finals. They always pull their MLS HD kids down to win. |
There is no age group where the NL and RL teams scrimmage and tie. |
