Here's how to report your neighbor for not clearing their sidewalk

I hope your glass house doesn’t get hit by the snowicane op. Karma is real. This ice covered snow is much harder to chip away at than anything we’ve seen here in decades, such that all the retailers nearby are out of ice melt and shovels until tomorrow. Give some grace. Someday you will need it.

They are still focused on the main roads and access points with the limited equipment they have. I saw them collecting ice on M street and clearing the streets leading to Key Bridge and Canal. I think they are also removing ice from Wisconsin, Connecticut and Georgia. Not clear when they will manage to get to the residential streets that were never touched. For once I am quite happy we live right next to a major route so our immediate surrounding is cleaned up and we are not stuck.

I saw the bobcats out as well. I'm glad they are now removing stuff instead of just pushing it around. I understand that this mix was unusual and I understand that usually it melts away. But I do wish that someone had looked at the longer term forecast and realized that things were going to be different. Nevertheless I give them credit for eventually adapting.

Things are hard when the loudest voices are imbeciles but this is our new normal.

I shoveled my sidewalk and my neighbor’s twice. Each time afterwards, the snowplow completely buried the path, after the third time with huge ice bolders. No way I can remove this unless there’s some serious thawing. But the road is down to the bare asphalt.

Meanwhile there are lots of streets that still haven't been plowed

what a horrible topic, to report your neighbors, for something the city should do.

only in government, do we allow our elected leaders to grift off the citizen's property for taxes, then tell us we dont own the sidewalk, but yet we are responsible for the sidewalk, only so the city wont be sued for accidents and liability is on the citizen.

on top of that terrible (illegal) arrangement, the city has decided to make money by ticketing people in non compliance.

then we have people who will rat out their neighbors, instead of just asking if they need help.

for those who want socialism in the US, just think what you neighbors will do to you, to keep their government funded home.

If it worked in East Germany, it can work here.

How do people clear the boulders blocking driveways?

I reported a bank. I think they can handle it themselves.

Break it apart with metal garden tools and then move the pieces by hand.

Unfortunately Fairfax and Prince William counties don't have enforcement, to my knowledge.

OP here. I'm signed up with my local to help shovel for elderly people.

If someone's truly incapable, there are abundant services to help and assist the disabled and the elderly. But mostly... people who don't shovel/salt are lazy AF and refuse to make their own arrangements. I give no F's for those nasty neighbors.

Go eff yourself, ahole.

At this point everyone has had more than a week to clear their sidewalks -- or arrange to have it done.

No sympathy for anyone who gets reported or gets a fine.

You just know they are the same irresponsible people driving with a sheet of ice on the roof of their car.
