Good way to get it done. Quit giving them money also. Of course all the deepstaters in bed with the drug cartels will reeee.

Do you not realize the person who pays the tariff is the consumer? And since you may not know who the consumer is, it’s YOU and the whole US population.

My brain can’t handle 4 more years of Trump clomping out insane texts yelling at our neighbors like Canada and Mexico. It’s not remotely presidential and it doesn’t help relations. I can’t believe fkwits voted for this just for that reason. He is like an angry megalomaniac step father figure to us all now.

I'm sorry, wut? Has he been inside a Walmart?

Time to short sell Walmart!

Funny. I didn’t see that news anywhere credible. Sounds like you had a dream, OP.

He said the same to Mexico during his presidency- Mexico then sent 15,000 troops to the US border and 6,000 to the Guatemala border.

Trump got what he wanted from Mexico and didn’t enact the tariff.

Is that why our border was closed during Trump's first term?

It wasn't closed. You are simply believing what you are being told without looking at the facts.

Sure, crossings were way down in 2020 because pandemic, duh.

Trump is a moron. The majority of imports from Mexico and Canada are “related party” trade between corporate subsidiaries. Its supply chain, assembly, and distribution across three countries, with U.S. parts and components crossing borders to assembly plants and coming back as finished goods, all within the same parent company. Products assembled in Mexico have more U.S. content than products manufactured in Asia, which is the main alternative. 100% U.S. manufactured products are not going to happen.

So it’s an antagonistic, belligerent tweet with an amorphous demand to nations with which we trade. And this is presidential behavior how?

They think it’s entertaining and will punish everyone they hate - which seems to be an ever expanding list.

But. At the end of the day, the invisible hand of the market will slap them in the face. It’ll be rough.

Our allies and partners won’t give us the same grace they did during the first Trump admin.

+1

A product needs to only have 51% made in the US to be considered Made in USA. They usually assemble the item in another country, then finish it off in the US.

Yes, our felon in chief will be announcing all of his whims on Truth Social now with his penchant for ALL-CAPS and Weird Capitalization, which we must endure until God intervenes.

The GOP has reversed a century old policy by now endorsing that a president picks winners and losers in the private sector.

Go figure.

All you have to ask is “What would incentive more bribery?” That is what Trump will do. Taxing or prohibiting something but then allowing the head of the government to grant exceptions at his discretion is the oldest grift in politics.
