Yes, I was thinking the same thing. These is myopic navel gazing to the extreme and useless for drawing any conclusions. |
There were 2 recruited athletes (D3). 6 URM. A small handful of legacies. |
I don’t think they remove URM from SCOIR. Does anyone know for sure? They definitely remove legacy admits. Of course, many times the legacy admits are also URM. |
No it isn’t. |
| It would be interesting if they had a version where only legacies were listed on SCOIR. |
| Moral of the story: if your goal is HYPSM alone regardless of quality of education, enroll your child at the school you are most confident they will get 3.95+ at. |
Enroll them in the worst private school in the DMV? Nice. |
Would rather do that then have my daughter grind at NCS and be told BC, UVA, etc are off the table because they have a 3.8 |
PP here. Meant “than” |
I agree. That’s insane! |
|
But it’s the journey, amirite!?!
|
| It’s not that troubling that Ivy+ schools are only available to the top of the class at NCS. What’s worse is that this is also the case for the rest of the top 40, which middle of the pack students have had more luck with in the past. |
As someone previously posted, they aren’t off the table… they just require ED. |
You shouldn’t have to ED to get into your state flagship. Disappointing that UVA relies on ED. Most top public schools do not have ED. |
But seriously, who applies to state schools anyway? |
