My oh my...someone is very salty, but not sure why! Rarely would a kid who is interested in Gonzaga apply at Potomac and vice versa. Two very different experiences. Potomac is a fancy private school with a bunch of entitled kids with wealthy families. Gonzaga has its share of that, but it is balanced out significantly with the fact that there is service done right on campus in the soup kitchen and with the number of students matriculating from Washington Jesuit Academy. As a mom to a student at GZ who will, by the way, be attending a top 20 university this fall, I would never consider a school like Potomac. And you should not consider Gonzaga...we don't want your type.

This entire thread gives independent school
Parents a really bad name. And I am one. Let’s stop this embarrassing “conversation.” What a bunch of jerks you all sound like.

I’m not a Potomac parent and I don’t know anyone that goes there. Bullis, Madeira, Landon absolutely go above all Catholic schools.

Ok, Potomac is having a good year, that doesn't mean it is top tier.
Leicester has won the EPL. Greece has won the Euro. No one would claim they are top tiers.
Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

+1 so many boosters... Potomac is doing a great job, not sure why everyone tries to put them down, its not like the Potomac parents are saying they're better than Sidwell like the NCS/STA parents are.

To be fair, it’s mostly the STA moms who are trying to push that nonsensical narrative—with absolutely no proof. The NCS parents on this thread seem connected to reality.

Lol very true

This is true but SSSA and Bullis should NOT be on anyone's list. I do not care how hard people try. And the inclusion of Potomac is very suspect. It's heavily athletes not strong academic students. Beautiful campus, yes. Wealthy parents/students, yes. But it is in no way considered one of the top schools or an academic powerhouse. St. John's should also not be on there - the honors program students are impressive but there are a tiny micro percentage of the whole school. The rest of the kids are just regular, run of the mill kids whose parents don't want them to go to public school.

This.
Potomac parents have chips on their shoulders. They always try to sneak in the school. I think most of the lists are made up by them.

Just like the unreasonable lists made by Catholic school parents trying to sneak in Gonzaga and Visi right.. I mean putting them above SAES and Madeira is nuts!? Not sure why parents cant understand that outside of sports, Potomac is a good school not an academic powerhouse but a top school for sure. Maybe you're salty you have to drive your kids to school everyday who knows -NCS and Potomac parent

Thanks for outing yourself—and your agenda. DD is at NCS and DS is at Potomac because likely rejected by St. Albans and/or Gonzaga. It’s all clear now. Why else would you have one in DC and one in VA? Who’s really the one salty about their commute?

You clearly don't know a single thing. First of all, all students take the 70+ buses to Potomac, no parent drives their child to school. Very simple. 2nd, I have two daughters. Nice try. If I had a son I wouldn't even look at Gonzaga, what a desolate institution. Where are your kids at, Whitman or HC?

Says who? You? Your unsubstantiated and biased contentions are meaningless to all of us. They are also entirely inaccurate.

You must work at the National Catholic School Confederation. Not sure if its a thing, if its not you should create it!

Neither. I stand corrected, then—rejected by NCS…which is odd for a sibling. Trust she’s loving that bus trip to and from McLean every day.

Oh so Jackson Reed? I'm beginning to think you don't have children at all. Simply a bitter outsider. Why don't you fess up since you stand corrected with everything?! My younger daughter can't apply to NCS because she's too young LOL. I know your next thought.... yes. She attended Beauvoir. She loves her Potomac bus and her kind bus driver, two things your child's school don't have. You think you know everything

You call an excellent Jesuit school that feeds the hungry and serves the poor a "desolate institution." You are pure evil.

Agree! Evil and condescending. NCS and Potomac must be proud to have such exemplary representation on a public forum.

SAES should not even be on the list. It is a mediocre school that is an alternative to Bullis. You just outed yourself as not knowing what you are talking about.

DP. This poster makes no sense. I don’t think they have kids at NCS or Potomac. No one leaves Beauvoir for Potomac unless they plan on staying there all the way through.

Both are great schools. This is getting ridiculous.
