Ah, you got me! I’m OP. You’re right, my comment should have been “I thought any Dem would be BETTER than Biden in beating Trump.” This thread exposed this hollow argument. No one could come up with a single viable contender. South Carolina proved that voters (in SC at least) OVERWHELMINGLY support Biden. Dean Phillips, the epitome of a Generic Dem (backed by millions $$) got less votes than “all we need is love” hippy women. I started the thread because I was questioning the Any Generic Dem argument but was open to hearing who this mythical person was. I’m not a Biden stan. I’m a realist. Had the GOP convicted Trump after Jan 6, I believe Biden would have stepped down. But the GOP CHOOSE to let Trump get away with his crimes and now we’re in this situation. If anyone is mad about a Biden/Trump matchup, the blame lays squarely at the GOPs feet. |
Your right OP no one is better than the dream team you have now. |
Who is better? Let's have it. |
Does SC restrict primary voting so that, eg, only Dems can vote in the Democratic Party’s primary? If so, it doesn’t tell us how well Biden will do in the election vs Trump. For that matter, it also doesn’t tell us definitively how the others would do versus Trump if Biden were not on the ticket. |
John F Kennedy. He has all of Trumps policies. |
Agree, OP!
Economy is great Biden is standing up to terrorists in the ME Biden will sign border legislation |
SC showed that the Democratic base is firmly behind Biden. |
+1 Where’s Trump’s support? Outside the bloodiest red Republicans… nothing. He’s hated by Democrats and Independents alike. |
I will help you out a bit here. Democrats will reliably vote blue no matter who the party nominates. A Democratic primary says nothing about how independents or Republicans will vote. Yes, you are a Stan. |
This is so rediculous. Are you really saying that the Republican party can elect someone who their base wants but the Democratic party can't? I'm sorry you don't like the GOP pick. I guess you have to decide if you will vote for Trump, third party, or Biden. Them's the choices. |
You might not like those results. Again, this might not be the thread for you. |
Another satirical post! Too funny. DP |
That's a pretty weak response, DP. |
DP...if you read the thread, read the links and look at the polls, it is clear that at the moment, there isn't a better alternative. |
Biden, an incumbent, got over 95% of the votes. Trump, effectively an incumbent, is barely getting 50% of GOP votes, and in both Iowa and NH, the turnout among GOP was far below normal. |
