Free speech rights are rights actionable against state actors. For better or worse, we have an at-will employment system. Even within state anti-discrimination laws, vocalizing support for violence is not a protected class. |

| I have major mixed feelings. I think that this just perpetuates the inappropriate politicization of universities and workplaces and chilling of speech. But at the same time, I don’t feel sorry for students and academics who have to face that it’s not OK to be openly anti-semitic. |
