Yeah!!! Congratulations!!! DH is going to recover and he will be OK 👍 |
Of course Yale.
Penn Stater here. How is this even a question? And I loved Penn State. |
This thread happened just over a year ago, and I wondered whether there was any chance of getting an update. To be clear: the decision was ultimately made and the kid was allowed to choose Yale, though the self-made dad was a little unhappy about the price tag. Us two seeing if OP is still around somewhere and if her son enjoyed his first year of college. |
Have not read the lengthy thread. What was/is the son's intended major ? If engineering, then Penn State may be the better option. |
Yale. If you can afford it, not even a question. |
All of you folks need to get a life.
All academic research clearly concludes that where you go is not important. The only issue is not the "ranking" which is incredibly subjective, but the peers at each school. A school that is mentioned in the 87% percentile is more than acceptable. Of course, save the $$. The folks on this site need to find other hobbies |
+1 Precisely. A kid that can get into both Yale and Penn State will do great in life. He does not need Yale and Yale will not make a difference. Save the money! |
I would like to know why DH has to go to therapy because of having a different opinion about Ivies from mom and DS. |
My kid chose a non-hyp ivy. He pretty much recovered the additional cost of the ivy the first year out of college. Hopefully, the rest of his 29 years of working life will add a lot of bonus to his choice. |
I am happy about your kids decision! Congratulations.

Prancing snowflake schools are so pre-Gaza. |

Fake, why? Because they differ from your opinion. |
