Hope you understand no one thinks your children are as special as you do, and yes they screw up. |
Of course. But the way these *grandparents* handled this was sh1tty. |
It sounds like nobody in your family has boundaries. Your parents are trying to set boundaries with you and your kids and dh, but they do not want to have boundaries with you, meaning they will call you nonstop.
In other words, what is good for the goose is not good for the gander. I would drop the rope completely and impose your own boundaries and stop catering to those narcs. They were clear enough and brutal to their own grandkid. |
OP consistently said her parents were being jerks about it. And she explicitly said they yelled. Weird how you’re picking and choosing which portions of her post you want to believe. And inserting your own details to fit your narrative. I’m taking OP for her word. Her parents handled it poorly. They yelled at a kid who was just trying to help. |
Who told OP just to stop? There's no right answer b/c either way you're picking and choosing which story OP told. You're doing what you accuse others of. |
Are they not grandparents? OP explicitly said they were. |
Come again? |
You can't read? |
You're writing fan fiction. Where were the grandparents brutal? |
Did you read the first post? Where they told grandson to just stop? |
They are. I emphasized grandparents with asterisks because they aren’t just random adults. |
NP You have a very very low bar for what is considered brutal. |
That was never said in the first post. Clearly you never read it. |
You can read the first 2/3 of OPs post in which yelling is never described and take her word for it and then find it to be inconsistent that OP then says her parents yelled at her kid. Either OP is inconsistent, or you assume that events that were never described took place. You know what they say about assuming… |
When you remove your narrative there aren’t multiple stories. Go re-read. Anyway, grandparents shouldn’t have yelled at an 8yo kid who was trying to help. Hopefully they apologize at some point. |
