| I'm not going to share that link. I think they know about it, though, because HR folks have weighed in in the past to answer questions. Early on, when principals were commenting, that had a chilling effect on the dialogue, but now I don't think people care, as they're talking freely. They probably know the principals agree with them anyway, and are in the same boat for the most part. Is there still an MCEA Facebook group? |
| How did they shut down the other one? |
| I think they shut down the teacher-coach at Sherwood too. Earlier today he posted that he still hadn't been placed, that he didn't know why he was being transferred if there were no openings elsewhere. Later in the day he deleted those tweets. Candidate Esther Wells had been engaging with him and expressing concern. I wonder if they got him to shut up by telling him he could stay. The whole situation sounded like a mess. |
| Actually, just checked the site and he no longer is listed as staff at all! |
| Don't spread the drama, staff go inactive in the directory when we transfer schools |
He was still tweeting about not being placed 5 hrs ago. Definitely don't think that is resolved. |
| I wonder why he deleted most of those tweets tho. |
MCPS administrators use their positions of power to silence desention. |
Omertà . |
| I had to look that up! |
Please do not share the link. But is there any way that an MCPS teacher can learn where to find this new Facebook page? I desperately miss the one that was shut down. |
| Why is a county government agency pressuring people to shut down posts on social media? Seems like a school system should focus on teaching students rather than silencing people. Seems like an abuse of power by Central Office administrators. |
The Union lawyers noted that some of comments from staff concerning not following contract requirements, playing copyrighted movies, complaining about admin etc. could be used against staff as an excuse for cause to fire someone. |
| That stinks. Maybe they should focus on why staff need peer support rather than use their words against them. |
| Did he get placed? |
