DP. No, they're not. Neither is W&M or half a dozen other schools mentioned in this thread.

What's your standard of elite? |
| Norte Dame. |
Maybe they are in your eyes because you never had a shot at the real elite schools. |
DP, elite is something like top 10. Certainly not beyond top 20. |
| Any school with acceptance rate higher than 10% these days is definitely not an elite school. Not saying <10% is necessarily an elite school though. |
So you're saying No. 6-ranked Carleton isn't? |
+1 Agreed. These are amazing schools and recruiters love them. Some of the folks on here have no clue. |
I somehow missed that definitive definition of elite. |
This entire line of thinking is idiotic |
| Northwestern, Dartmouth |

Brown, Amherst, Dartmouth, Northwestern
I know people from a wide variety of "elite" schools and the people from the aforementioned are consistently some of the most well-adjusted and "down to earth" sort, even if they're in traditional prestige industries or hotshot careers. |
No. 6 ranked where? |
Yes, just because you could only end up with a LAC, which most competitive people don't even have interest in applying. You don't become an elite school if it's easy to get in, period. |
This was the question originally asked: "What are elite, or very good schools (say average ACT 30/31 or higher), have the most down to earth students? That aren't super competitive amongst students even if students have strong aspirations?" The average ACT opens it up to quite a few schools. |
