The Cambridges News and Updates ( Prince William, Kate Middleton, George, Charlotte and Louis)

Kate Middleton's dress look like a funeral home curtain

Will the bald looks like the son of a commoner who has just won the lottery .

Come to think of it, maybe that's what they're going for—king and queen of blandness .

I like Kate's dress and think she looks great. Everything always fits like a glove. She tends to dress more conservatively and that's not for everyone, but seems par for the course for her.

Sorry she’s not dressing like a kardashian. She’s classy and Royal. Won’t see her dressing up like Paris Hilton or a real housewife

If she was classy the French paparazzi would not have had photos of her woo-woo as she changed out of bikini bottoms on the side of the pool in front of everyone. yes, they were later taken off the internet.

She was in a private residence, not parading her a$$ for everyone to see like the Kartrashians. Weak analogy.

What if I told you that there are other options besides old lady and kardashian? Like any First Lady or older actresses like Kerry Washington and Julianne Moore, etc.

So go start a thread about them and swoon over their dresses? Being here is not a requirement.

I didn't suggest kardashian but there's a sweet spot in there that she's not hitting.

To be fair, she also does not have a lot of choices. Besides McQueen I can’t think of any other high fashion British brand.

Maybe her taste is not your taste?

I really like this dress, and she wears it well.

The color is exceedingly dull.

It's not the most exciting but it really, really flatters her skin tone. Which is why it was chosen. Obviously.

This was her husband’s night, clearly she did not want to steal the limelight. I recall she wore low key outfits to both her sister’s wedding and Harry’s wedding. Classy lady.

He looks flat out weird. Their outfits also look strange side by side which is odd considering they’re meant to be photographed together. I will say this is one of Kate’s better looks. The dress fits, it’s flattering if a little bland. Not a bad choice. Her husband on the other hand—yikes. He’s trying so hard to be cool, and he looks like someone’s weird uncle.

That's your opinion. I think they complement each other in this picture. I think he looks like a host of an interesting, potentially important climate contest. IOW, it all works, for me.

Please explain how these looks complement each other. He looks like he’s going to a Christmas party with the mod squad and she looks like she’s going to a summer black tie wedding.

The real crime in those photos is the sheet of astroturf they're standing on. I can't decide if it looks more like a football sideline, TV greenroom, or Florida grandma's cheap lanai rug.

Kate's hair is gorgeous. William looks like a leprechaun. (Maybe it's a nod to N.Ireland so they don't bolt the U.K. along with Scotland?)

I think it’s about supporting “green” environmental initiatives.

Stella McCartney for starters. I agree, though, that she doesn’t have a lot of choices — given what her current tastes seem to be. Stella McCartney, Victoria Beckham, Vintage Mary Quant — don’t strike me as her sort of styles. I’d guess that she genuinely likes casual classics — which also helps to promote sales of British goods: like those nice Penelope Chilvers boots, or Burberry and Barbour.

Yeah, I got that very subtle symbolism. That shade of green just has too many other connotations.

The astroturf entryway was offputting, but I am very bothered by Kate's belt! I love the dress, she looks lovely, but the color of the belt doesn't seem to go with the dress very well.

Victoria Beckham is very Real Housewives, no way. Stella McCartney is interesting but she does not do a ton of evening wear and she basically does variations of the same signature style, she is like the Calvin Klein of the 2000’s. It would be cool to see the duchess wear something more trendy but yeah she is quintessentially British and the Brits love her style.
