If you could spend no more than $450,000 on a SFH/townhome/condo, where in the DMV would you buy?

Assume you will buy within the next 6 months and that either you, your spouse or both have a daily commute into central (Metro-accessible) DC. This isn't a rental property--you must live there with your family. Bonus points if you link to a home that's currently on the market.

This is a purely hypothetical question. Just curious what people would do with a limited budget.

How many people does this need to accommodate? The answer will be much different for a family that is a couple with 1 child (who could do just fine in a 2 bedroom) vs. a family that is a couple, their 4 children of various ages/genders (more difficult to share bedrooms) and the disabled inlaws who live with them (who would need minimum 4 bedroom, but that would be uncomfortably crowded).

It must accommodate *your* family, however big that may be.

That's an awesome location. I used to live there and loved it. You can't beat being directly across the street from the Metro.

Meh. These redfin and realtor.com links are unreadable from a smart phone. Franklymls is so much better.
