“If we stop counting we won’t have any cases.”
“The Trump administration is canceling an annual government effort to gather data on how many Americans struggle to get enough food. The data, which is collected each December and analyzed by the U.S. Agriculture Department, measures food insecurity across states and demographic groups. The data has been collected every year since the mid-1990s, and is widely used by federal, state and local policymakers to make funding decisions for food-assistance programs, and to evaluate how well those programs work. https://www.wsj.com/economy/trump-administration-cancels-annual-hunger-survey-ca3d3793?gaa_at=eafs&gaa_n=ASWzDAjiqMAQusz9Hq-nN0ENfZjuwncgXXutnmJ8dbH4CdN7IB-ECBl0vwLYEhAA8cU%3D&gaa_ts=68cef46d&gaa_sig=YZYMPT7UZz9-td-66yrCqegXujFX_q-hJUjriqHg3cnyWpAYx03EpHi2DErgAnOhKLD5ic4I5AsVC9Dk9lmkbw%3D%3D |
And thus, the GOP solves the hunger problem.

I heard they're going to give it to Boomer Bill at the FBI who works magic. He can beautifully finesse ChatGPT drivel into believable evidence. |
They also stopped the scourge of forever chemicals. |

The S&P is almost up to 6,700 today. Can I finally take my money out of my shoebox and invest? I was told the tariffs would crash the stock market. When is it going to happen?!!!
I trust the sage financial advice of people on this forum and it hasn’t steered me wrong yet. I didn’t overextend myself financially like you guys said, so I have DD and DS in a diverse high school in Congress Heights where we live in a 2br condo off of our $500,000 HHI. I sold all my stocks on April 7, 2025 because everyone told me that the market was going to have a 1929 crash again and I should wait and buy stocks at pennies on the dollar when the dust settled. Well, when is this stock market crash happening?! I trusted you guys. |
| Can someone explain how the stock market rises when all these expenses are higher and people don't have food for someone who doesn't understand economics? |
Higher prices mean higher profits for corporations and their investors, so higher stock prices. Investors also love layoffs by the way because they also increase corporate profits. |
Average P/E ratio for the US is 27.12. Only the 5th time it's been past 25 since 1880. Last time was 1991. But they're paying for the future, not for today. |
Higher profits but fewer customers and US products are being boycotted worldwide. At some point, it will catch up. |

And a lot of this is driven by data centers using HUGE amounts of electricity causing wholesale prices to skyrocket. But quick look away from the destruction that tech companies are causing.....especially since they sit at the right hand of Trump in all manners. They were even at the Windsor dinner because the WH added them to their list. They were at the inauguration and ohhhh those talking about technofascism are just loons. They'll regulate themselves
